I have used the appointment planner and it works well because I get an email about an upcoming appointment. Since I usually check my email daily I get these great reminders about upcoming appointments even when I haven't written it down.
You can throw in the towel or use it to wipe the sweat off your face.

I usually use the journal to record little notes about what I ate that may have caused my blood sugar to be a little higher than normal, or reasons/triggers why I may have over indulged or went over my calories. I haven't used the appointments except for reminders to weigh in but I may start using it more since I am on here so much. I added one tonight and need to take time tomorrow and fill in more stuff. Great tool.
I knew they existed but never checked them out. I have a calendar in my purse that I use and always have with me. I do not have a fancy phone or iPad to carry around to access online calendars. I think I may check the journal out a little further. I will pass on the calendar.

I've used the calendar here to remind me of things I want to do that relate to this Web site like exercises or meal ideas I want to try. It works well, but I've been using the calendar with my email account for my day to day reminders for a long time and it would be too hard to switch everything over. I haven't tried the journal because I have one already and don't have time to keep up with it.

Using the Spark People planner and journal: Did you even know there was one? I confess, this is not something I've utilized yet -- I have an organizer program on my computer that lets me do the same type of things, and which I was using before I joined Spark. However, since I'm here on the Spark website so often, I think I'm going to be switching over to this planner. It will give you email reminders, and you can use the journal to write things that you don't want to put in your public blogs. If you already use this feature of SP, please tell us how you like it. If you haven't used it before, check it out and tell us if you think it would be helpful for you and how you might utilize it.
To find the planner, just hover your cursor over "My Trackers" at the top of the page and then clicker on "planner" about 2/3 of the way down the list. You'll find a calendar, an appointment book, and the journal.
