The weather was nice enough today I was able to sit on my little porch for 15 minutes and enjoy some sunshine. I liked listening to the birds and watching all the little kids in our apartment complex play.

I was able to get out for a good 35 minute hike on a nearby woods trail. My three dogs were so glad to get out - they enjoyed the walk so much. The trail still has some rotten ice on the puddles and soft snow under the trees. But it was so much fun to slip and slide in the mud, even though it was so cold when it seeped in my shoe.
At the end of the day, be able to look back and say "I did my best today."

Spent about 10-15 minutes outside on our acreage, walking our puppy. Did not post this as fitness as it was a leisurely walk, trying to get someone to do his business. My redbud and Bradford pear trees plus two shrubs are in bloom. The creek is running well from the recent rains.
Well I checked on my overwintering (outdoor) herbs and plants. My broccoli is still producing heavily and there is even a cabbage plant that overwintered. I still have Sage, oregano, thyme, lavender - (a lot of my stock was originally planted better than 25 years ago. I had to start over with rosemary and Thyme 2 years ago after a worse than usual winter. I spent some time prepping pots for tomatoes and basil and other plants.
Next I went and spent about 4 hours taking care of my feral colony. It will be a long day tomorrow since it is a trapping day (for spays and neuters( and I still have to do several hours of feeding after trapping several for surgery. I trap lots who don't need to be spaye or neutered again so they get released after their snack and then the traps get reset so it generally takes better than 6 hours and I get in lots of extra walking.

Well, I'm very jealous of cleaning the pool, gardening, watching hummingbirds, etc! SUEANDBILL seems to be the only one in the same boat as me... woke up to snow, which turned to a "wintry mix" (as they say) and then rain. Yuck. But, somewhere in there I took the dogs out and walked around our yard and found that my bleeding heart plants are poking through the ground (near the foundation of the house), the pussy willows are popping out, and the robins are back. So, although there is still a couple of feet of snow covering my garden, there may actually be hope that spring is on its way. I'd really love this time of year if it didn't involve so much mud!!

We went out and worked in the garden. Last fall we buried our grape vines in the hope that they would not freeze so badly, so today we dug them up and tied them to stakes. We are hoping that the rain will wash them off and in a couple of weeks we will know how they are doing. Last winter they froze back to the ground and did not put up sprouts until June! Maybe this year they will finally grow enough so we won't have to bury them again. We were out about an hour. I set a goal of taking my blood pressure twice a week and today it was 135/85

I watch "Humingbird TV" as my sister loves to call it. I have the feeder hanging at the back of our shed and in the beginning of the year only the Anna Hummingbirds flew in, now there are other varieties and besides for their zooming sounds, they fight over who has dominance on the feeder. I like to think I have the best feeder in the park and I attract the best hummingbirds, but after talking to my neighbors who hang their feeders right out the front window, I'm just lucky to get the birds I do. Still, I love watching them. I grew up in Cincinnati, and there were no hummingbirds there so this is a treat for me. I watch them for hours. Love it.
Used the treadmill for 30 min. at the gym this morning. I'm not sure I'm getting outside to enjoy 15 min. of rainy mist with possible flurries mixed in. Nothing worth taking a picture of at the gym but proud of myself that I got there on my own.

Going to an Assembly for furthering my religious education these next two days. The meeting hall is usually cold so for lunch I usually go outside to warm up and enjoy sitting in the sun having my little picnic. The forcast is for mid 70's so it will feel great! Have yourselves a lovely weekend!

Spend at least 15 minutes outdoors; tell us what you did and something that you saw out there that you found interesting (it need not be interesting to anyone but you!). If you like, take a photo and post it on the team photos -- then post a link so we can find it! Here's how:
Save your photo to your computer in a folder where you can find it again. Click on the "photos" link on the right side of the team page (under the "view huddle wall/huddle now" button) Click on "add new photo." Click on the "choose file" button and locate the photo that you saved to your computer. Type in a caption for your photo. Click on the "add photo" button and wait for your photo to upload. Now, to post a link: click on your photo and then click on the address box (which will start with "www.sparkpeople...") to highlight it. Press the CTRL and "C" keys on your computer at the same time to copy the address. Post your message in the thread, then click on "add link" and position your cursor in the box that comes up -- press the CTRL and "V" keys at the same time to insert the address for your photo. Post your message, and then check your link by clicking on it -- it should take you to your photo. You're done! (but if you had any problems along the way, please let me know and we'll figure it out!)
