yesterday i really wanted to stop after 5 minutes on the stair stepper, but decided to push myself to go for 15 minutes, climbing almost 50 floors and burning over 110 calories. :)

I've lost 4 pounds since new year's day!! I track almost everything (except when I go out), and am much better about not over eating. I also stopped eating a few hours before bed. That little nagging hunger feeling I used to hate, I now kind of like because it means I'm losing weight!!

I am finding it easier to choose to walk instead of take the car, and to turn down not so good foods. Each day that I track my food and workouts and see good results, I am motivated to keep at it!

Coming off of an injury its been difficult for me to workout alot and run but yesterday I pushed myself and ran 6 miles!
You ladies are so incredible and so good at staying motivated!! I made a resolution this year to cook at home and take lunches to school/work and it's working so far! (with the occasional slip up). I get to eat delicious meals, save money and lose weight. It's win/win/win I figure.

Nice! It is so much easier to actually go to the gym and push yourself when you have someone with you...

I signed up for a gym and have gone each day of my weekend - 3 days in a row!
I went to the gym with a co-worker and my cousin today. We decided to do 15 minutes on the bike, and I was the first to complain and say I didn't think I could do it. I pushed myself to the 15 minute mark, and told them both to go to 16 minutes instead. We just kept going, and my cousin said to me, "You are the one pushing me right now." We ended up going 21 minutes, til we burned 100 calories!

Small success: I've noticed that I'm quicker to volunteer for things that aren't necessarily "the easy way" - taking the stairs instead of the elevator, shoveling the driveway instead of waiting for my husband to do it, continuing a workout past where I'd usually stop (just to try a little harder).
Bigger success: I've been vigilant about meal planning for the whole month so far. I feel so much better when I know what I'll be making (and eating) for dinner and the ingredients are already in the house.
Biggest success: I've officially lost 40lbs!! I have another pound and a half until I reach my first goal, and then another 20 or so until I reach my next, but I'm delighted to have reached 40 lbs gone. Yay!

Just wanted to stop in and say hello. I haven't been on spark in a while after gaining back the 40 pounds from the first time I did it. I'm going to try to take smaller steps and build habits longer this time.

Yeah for the planning!
I went to the gym today, eventhough I am not feeling the greatest...and I worked my butt off...I really thought that I would slack, considering how I felt, but it actually made me work harder! I can already tell that I am going to be really sore tomorrow - it's that beautiful burn!

I turned down our company luncheon and showed up with my own container of green beans and chicken breast. I did have a diet coke, though! They all thought I was crazy not to indulge in Famous Daves - oh, but it smelled so good!
