Well - today has def been a big fail for me as far as carbs are concerned..... more carbs today then I have had in a LONG time :-( oh well..... tomorrow is another day and I plan to start it with a long run! On the up side.... I have almost 75000 steps for this week!! Yay Me!

OH MY -- Time has flown by this week!! Can't believe it is Thursday already..... today is my younger dd's 6th birthday :-) I have done well with getting in over 10,000 steps each day so far this week!

Great goals Connie and Hink! Connie - I hope you enjoy the DVD, very cool that you won it on SP! I have two DVDs that are a bit too hard for me in a few places, but I still use them and do my own thing to keep moving on the complex moves. Perhaps it's not a pretty sight - but my dogs don't mind! emoticon

I'm going to try and get at least three days in the pool. Stay on track with my protein and water. I won an exercise DVD from the spark wheel it came in today and it's Cardio Blast with coach Nicole. I'm going to look it over and see what I can do with it.

Hey gals...

Well I think my goal for this week is to reach my 70000 step weekly goal... I hit 10,000 steps in a day easily when I run, but on days I don't run, I really seem to slack off on my steps.... so I'm going to try and get moving more this week!!

Hi Hink and Connie - sounds like we're all in recovery mode a bit! emoticon

Connie - I love aqua aerobics and deep water running. Both are great for stretching sore aching joints - I hope it helps your hips - just work at your own pace. emoticon

Hink - I've always wanted to try hot yoga. Yoga outdoors sounds great too, for me - this will need to wait until spring as Wisconsin weather won't cooperate any more this year! emoticon

Let's share our individual goals for the coming week as a 5 point bonus!

Mine is to continue my 60/60/60 goal (60 g protein, 60 minutes of exercise and 60 ounces of water - all daily). I also plan to eat a rainbow of fruits and veggies. Here's a link that explains this:

Note that you don't need to eat large quantities of these as I know fruits and veggies can be challenging for some people post op. I'm fine if I chew well. Another option is to make a healthy soup puree with veggies or add berries or part of a banana to a protein shake.

Well I'm not doing the best when it comes to exercise. Last week I think I over did it because my hip has killed me this week. I've had to kind of take it easy and baby it, soak in a hot tub and do what I can. I did try a little water exercise today thinking that might help. Your doing great Hink and I'm happy you like that teacher.

Thanks Maizey & Connie! Hope everyone is having a good week.... I've done well exercise wise this week, went to a great hot yoga class on Sunday and then went to an outdoor yoga class in the park yesterday..... I really like this teacher, so I am going to try and get to her classes 1 -2 times a week, she definitely challenges me to get better!

I've been getting in my daily exercise but on the low level as I've had a very hectic week. I need to work on not over-committing!!

Had to share -- I had a huge NSV today!! I had set a goal this summer to eventually be able to run from my house to the front of my neighborhood and back, this is about 3.5 miles and there are 3 big hills, 1 of those hills is a REALLY BIG HILL!!! And I did it today!!! emoticon

Some days it is hard to believe that I am this person, 75 lbs lighter and able to run 3.5 miles, I don't see myself as this thin person that others see me as... but anyway, today I feel very proud of me!!

well - took the girls to the baseball game last night.... I had a hotdog (the first one in a VERY long time!!) that was my one indulgence for the evening, and seriously, a hotdog only ever sounds good when I am at the baseball stadium! Hope you guys have a good weekend!

We've all done a great job of working out today even though our motivation was low - woo Hoo teammates! I had an appointment with my personal trainer tonight. I was tempted to cancel, but I went and was glad I did once I got there.

After being sick with some kind of a virus that's been going around, I too had a hard time getting motivated myself. I did a mile today and when I was finished it felt like 20 miles. Glad you had a good check up Hink, I did too. I started adding a scoop of whey protein to my shake in the mornings, the only thing I don't like is the calorie count but the protein count is great.
Maizey your dong a great job here and I appreciate all you do.

Maizey - I'm happily surprised that I lost some weight this week.... I did great until Thursday, I think because I had my 6 month check up with surgeon on Thursday, so I was on best behavior and then after that I just totally let lose for a few days! but surprise, I was still down 2 lbs this week.... sometimes I think that I do better when I just listen to my body rather than watching every single thing that goes in my mouth!!??!

Ok My goal is one more pound then Hink...So if Hink looses 10 I will loose 11! How is that for a Challenge dear Hink. My cupboards are ready, I need to work on sleep only got six last night...Wednesday...I will be good just need to put the Diet Pepsi away and drink the Crystal light Thursday my response will be "this too shall pass" Friday maybe shoe shopping day as my exercise shoes are over six months old. Saturday...I am the worst at planning meals Sunday-Alzheimers walk at the Zoo great way to start the challenge!! emoticon
