Hi! I've only been eating clean for a short time, and I'm struggling a little with finding things my kids like. They both love the farmers markets, but winter vegetables don't excite them much. I have made bean burritos (organic whole wheat tortillas) and yogurt parfaits and salads. Also a chicken stir fry (we are weeding out meat and poultry slowly, but we do stick to halal meats). We are going back to school and I'll need to start packing lunches, so any ideas are welcome.

I'm working on my grocery list for Saturday. I have enjoyed the 2-3 weeks of holiday festivities, but in my heart... I'm craving some good ole "Clean & Unprocessed" eating.

So, my normal routine is to shop on Saturday & cook up some good food choices and have them handy for the busy week. It works for me... time to get back on track.

My starting measures: 38199 steps/week 4774.9 steps/day
January Goal: 5252.0 steps/day
February Goal: 5777.0 steps/day 10% increase over January

good morning ! I started " eating clean" about 7 weeks ago as well as increased my activity level from 'not much' to 5 times a week of high intensity for one hour. I have lost 20# and am now working to keep that off and lose another 10.

Clean eating is a huge lifestyle change and at first I complained about the cost - just an excuse really- since the processed foods are a lot more expensive when I really examined it !

Very excited about this way of living- healthier and happier!! :)

The weekends are actually the best days for me to eat clean. I am closer to home. I go to the Farmers Market, I have time to cook, and my fridge is full of good choices. Things get dicey at my house from weds-Friday when my fridge gets empty.

wow I really admire you guys, I love salads but always feel still hungry after one, I cook most of my food, and eat clean for the most part, will have to try on of these super clean weekends, just to see how I feel and if I can do it, dallas

For protein during "Super Clean" weekend, I eat a lot of sprouted seeds and nuts. I allow myself some goat milk yogurt too (not raw or vegan, but good for digestion!

Okay, great! Anyone else?

I'm going to start on Friday and do my super clean weekend for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I weigh in on Mondays and I'm hoping to see some good results this week!

Homemade bread sounds amazing! So when you're doing raw/vegan what do you eat for protein besides nuts?

Let's both post after the weekend and say how we did. THe accountability will be great for me.

I like MY recipe for my green smoothie. There are dozens of different recipes/variations...make what sounds good to you.

When I do my "Super Clean" day or weekend, I stick with as much raw/vegan food as I can, with the only exception being goat-milk yogurt.
I have a lot of sprouted seeds and nuts, and some homemade Essene bread.
It takes a lot of planning, but is totally worth it.

I wanted to be able to check in over that weekend but things got crazy busy irl. I did eat clean the whole weekend, but unfortunately I did have a little wine. (working in wine tasting room it's very hard to avoid tastings...)

I did feel pretty 'reset' after the weekend, and am considering hitting a cooler 1 hardcore style weekend every weekend.

I did good on Sunday. I had a green smoothie for breakfast, large chicken salad for lunch and 1/2 grapefruit, and my husband made seafood paella with whole wheat noodles for dinner that was very good.

So far today:

Breakfast: Smoothie - mostly green, but added some blackberries!
Snack: 28g (1oz) raw almonds
Lunch: Large salad with edamame + Arame
Snack: Banana
I haven't decided about dinner yet...maybe another HUGE salad or another smoothie.

Walked 54 minutes + 2 sets push-ups.

Thanks for that green smoothie recipe. I've been wanting to try it but, somehow, the color has just been SUCH a turnoff. But I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. I have everything but the kale but I am LOADED up on spinach, so I'll try it with that!

My weekend plan:
Breakfast - 1C Kashi cereal, 1 small banana, 1C skim milk
Snack - 2 Tb nuts
Lunch - 4 oz cottage cheese with 1C raw vegetables
Snack - 1 fruit (apple or orange)
Dinner - Large salad with 1/2 grilled chicken breast (salad includes romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, cuke, red pepper, mushrooms, sprouts ,shredded carrot)

Everything is organic!

It's easy to do: Just choose a selection of your favorite clean foods/meals and fit them into the upcoming weekend.
Add moderate exercise, plenty of water and fresh air, and you're good to go... emoticon

I usually have to wait for the warmer weather to feel like doing this, but this weekend is going to be balmy for Colorado, and I am going to have my first "Super Clean" weekend, starting on Saturday morning.

Here's what I'll be doing (both days)
Breakfast: Green smoothie
Snack: 28g (1oz) raw almonds
Lunch: Large salad with quinoa salad (quinoa with black beans + fresh parsley/lemon juice dressing.)
Snack: Banana
Dinner: Simple vegetable broth-like soup with 85g (about 3oz) shredded chicken breast meat

All foods are organic
Water intake: 2 liters +
Exercise: 45-60 minutes brisk walking
