I haven't heard of the use of coconut oil. It sounds like everyone hear likes it - perhaps I will give it a try. Thanks for the advice.

Tonight for dinner with some soup I had a piece of whole wheat bread with a nice layer of coconut oil spread on it. Added a sprinkling of "Sea Salt w/Sea Vegetables". Put a tsp of the coconut oil into the soup as well. Got my coconut oil fix for the day!

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Man oh man, the cold press stuff ROCKS! If you like the flavor of coconut, it is DIVINE! Delish to the max! I got some of the cold pressed and refined.

It is also stellar for the skin! If you have dry skin it is AMAZING for it. I've started using it for my dry hands and they were soft the next day!!!

No. I don't bake anymore either. Just saying you could use it for that.

Sometimes I add coconut oil to my black coffee. Gives it a creaminess. There is a sparkteam dedicated to CO. I'm sure you'll find more suggestions there.

I use it all the time for cooking and baking. You can get the cold-pressed that smells and tastes like coconut (YUM!) and you can get refined with has no taste or smell at all... it has a high smoke point (for frying) and is heart healthy.
You can use it in place of the fat in baking too. Makes a great cookie!

I recently added this to my diet on the recommendation of a physician. I don't use it to cook. I use a little coconut oil in place of butter. Even my kids like it.

Does anyone cook with extra-virgin coconut oil? I'm interested in adding more heart-healthy fats to my diet.
