I may post this, and then start reading through the others, and find the answer, but is this team still tracking their fitness minutes? I want to start doing this again, because I will be joining a gym in a few weeks, as well as making other changes in my life.

I'm in for 1000 minutes in February!
I'm sure most of you have read the challenge from our wonderful ceo/founder sparkguy?
Here we go. Your goal is to track 'monthly' fitness points in 2008.
After some careful consideration, I think the following is doable:
Newbies-
400-500 points a month
Example: 45 minutes X 3 days a week will get you an average of 540 minutes in a month. You can do this! Count minutes in weight training, floor work/core work and surely you will exceed!
Experienced - 800-900 Per Month
Example: 50 minutes X 4 days a week will get you a nice 800 or so. Don't forget to count minutes in floor work, weight training, classes! You can exceed this 900 number quite easily!
Athletes/gym rats (you know who you are!)
1,300-1,400 each month
I don't think I have to explain much to you. :) But if you are doing cardio 5 days a week at 60 minutes a day you are already at 1200. Include gym/weight training and you've exceeded without a flinch :)
So people, when you crunch the numbers in your lifestyle 'fit' these are reasonable/achievable goals, yes?
Think change, new beginnings and of course, going 'full force'.

I am in - I got a late start this month - mid month - but I am in - so far I am at - 1245 for the month.
Week of 1/28 - Monday - 212 min
Tuesday - 126 min
My goal each month is to do 2400 mins each month - yes - I have high goals - but that is how you reach them right!! :)

Ok, I signed up for SparkAmerica when it first came out and said 10,950 minutes for the year which is roughly 30 minutes per day.
If you break that down, my monthly goal is an odd 912.5 minutes per month. So I am going to aim for an even 1200 minutes per month instead and adjust my SparkAmerica.
And, that being the case, I have already met and exceeded my January goal as of the 20th of the month!

I haven't had any problems with my fitness minutes for the challenge. I enter my cardio under My Fitness and it adds the right amount to the Spark America challenge.

Okay so if you manually enter your own workouts you may not get full credit. Is that what I'm hearing Rhonda?
I know it's frustrating- there are lots of things I fudge on just to make it work for me... but in the end the minutes and basic work out are there.

Sorry, I haven't been on in a few days!
SkinnyPup, I noticed that I had put in over an hour of cardio, yet I was only getting credit for 20 minutes, which coincided with my strength training. When I put in the next day's cardio, I still only had the 20, so I went back and read the SparkAmerica page again, to make sure we were supposed to get credit for cardio. Then I just decided to put in my cardio using the Spark cardio entries, and my minutes increased! So after going back and redoing the days I didn't get credit for, I've been entering my cardio that way, and then in the "notes" I put my actual calorie burn from my heart monitor, for my info!

I had already signed up for 12,960. The one thing I don't like is that it won't give you credit for cardio that you input manually! I like to input my exact calorie burn from my heart monitor, but I guess I'll have to go back to doing it the other way!

This challenge is a good motivator to begin the year, yipee! I think I am going to have to dig out my heart monitor so I can accurately count how all these minutes translate into calorie burn!

I'm sure most of you have read the challenge from our wonderful ceo/founder sparkguy?
Here we go. Your goal is to track 'monthly' fitness points in 2008.
After some careful consideration, I think the following is doable:
Newbies-
400-500 points a month
Example: 45 minutes X 3 days a week will get you an average of 540 minutes in a month. You can do this! Count minutes in weight training, floor work/core work and surely you will exceed!
Experienced - 800-900 Per Month
Example: 50 minutes X 4 days a week will get you a nice 800 or so. Don't forget to count minutes in floor work, weight training, classes! You can exceed this 900 number quite easily!
Athletes/gym rats (you know who you are!)
1,300-1,400 each month
I don't think I have to explain much to you. :) But if you are doing cardio 5 days a week at 60 minutes a day you are already at 1200. Include gym/weight training and you've exceeded without a flinch :)
So people, when you crunch the numbers in your lifestyle 'fit' these are reasonable/achievable goals, yes?
January is about change, new beginnings and of course, going 'full force'.
