said good-bye to 1.8 pounds this week. I have set realistic scale goals so am happy with any loss or maintaining-luckily, I am learning about recognizing the other subtle changes like not being so winded when taking stairs, clothes that are looser, and feeling better about life in general.

Another pound gone! emoticon I find I can take stairs so much easier than I could 5 months ago. I use to have to wait at each landing and catch my breath before opening the door to enter my floor so I would not be embarrassed by my huffing and puffing. I now can take the stairs and take just a moment to recover. Feels good.

My weight has been at a standstill for a few weeks now. Cant seem to break past 190-188, I hope soon it will happen. I have been doing the Spark people 28 day challenge so I have been burning my calories. I tend to go out to eat and that's where everything goes down hill. I really need to hit the grocery store. Well I hope everyone has a great and productive week. Here's to better results on Sunday.

okay-not happy with the scale but decided not to let it color my day-took my sweet dog for a walk, helped my sister(even though was working on "why should I" issues) then home to work out with Wii

Today I weighed in and was pleasantly surprised at a 2 lb. loss! I like to use the scale as a motivator but am glad to be learning how to use the non-scale victories as well. This past week I went to a baby shower and was dreading having to pick something casual to wear. It was great to put on some jeans that usually has me wondering if I can sit in them for any length of time and they fit better than the last time I tried to wear them. I made a note in my journal how that made me feel and want to return to read about that when my motivation starts to wane. It was a super feeling as one of my goals in getting healthier and losing weight is to lose that feeling of dread when doing something social.

Be good to yourselves this week! emoticon

I am down to 189 as of this morning, I just started the 28 day bootcamp dvd this last week so I hope it helps me shed some of this unwanted weight. I am glad to be going in the right direction. Hope everyone's week was productive!

I finally made that scale move down a pound today for a total of 7 pounds lost. The scale has always been my enemy and I really have to force myself to stay away from it.

I'm far behind my goal of two pounds a week, but something is better than nothing.

I am exercising aggressively and that is reflected in inches lost.Since 1/29, I've lost 10 inches! Additionally I've dropped my resting heart rate 6 points.

Lost a .8 this last week-a little disappointing but putting the thoughts where they belong-telling myself it's not just about the numbers and as long as I'm doing everything on track-it will be okay. Getting better at recognizing the non-scale victories-actually felt better working on some outside the house projects-usually I cannot muster much enthusiasm let alone energy to do anything like that. I think feeling healthier, eating right, working on getting enough sleep have all played a role to help me not worry so much about how much the scale moves. Looking forward to another good week of doing what's right for me and let the results take care of themselves.
Wishing all a week of being good to yourselves! emoticon

Weighed in this morning at 192, so I am now down 16 pounds from my starting weight. NYCTINA I understand where your coming from it can be hard to be positive when your not seeing the numbers you want. I was hoping to be out of the 90s this week but I try to be positive about the fact that I am getting there even if it is a little slower than I like. I hope you see more progress in the weeks to come, Good Luck!!

I've been stuck at a plateau for a while now. I started working out and eating right in late January. I lost 6lbs at first and then stayed there for weeks. This week I weighed in and I'm down another 2 lbs for a total of 8lbs lost so far. I'm finally seeing more progress!

I completely agree with you. When your looking at a huge number such as mine which is around 65 to loose. It seems as though you will never get there. Celebrating the little victories is an amazing idea. I think I will try this :D

Weighed in and have now lost an even 11 pounds-or is that uneven?!? emoticon Anyway, rewarded myself with a non-food item of a new nightgown. I reward myself for each 5 lbs. lost. I like the idea of setting little goals to reach the final goal. Breaking it down makes it seem much more attainable.
Good luck to all this week!

So this is my first time posting my weigh in on here but I think its a great idea. So this past week I lost abut 2 pounds bringing my weight loss up to 13 pounds. I can say that I feel a lot better even with that small amount of weight gone. I feel more energetic. I must say I think I am doing well so far!

emoticon Weighed in today and another 1.2 lbs. gone! That puts me just over the 10 pounds lost since I started 1/28/13. For my NSV I find that working out at the gym on the different machines is becoming a little easier and I have been able to increase my time. I am walking a little faster on my routes and it feels great to hit the button on my stopwatch and see that I have shaved another few seconds or a minute off my previous time on different routes. Yay me! emoticon

wtg!

If you are working the same muscles every day, then yes, you need to give them a rest. The workout breaks them down, so they can grow. They can only grow and repair if you give them time to do so.

So happy!
Does anyone think it's not good to weight lift 5 days per week? I heard that I'm supposed to do it every other day to give my muscles a break?
Thanks..

1.4 pounds this week-after seeing those pictures, I now no longer sigh and say just a pound. I'm glad to be rid of that hunk of gunk! Still have to do some self-talking to get to the gym but am doing better than a month ago-progress is always good.

I lost five pounds in the first two weeks; that feels pretty good to me, especially after seeing a picture of yellow, yucky five-pounds-of-fat glob. Glad at least that much is going from my body. SparkPeople is a great help. I'm tracking all my food and that's a bid help for me.

This past week I only lost 1lb, so that was a little disheartening.

However, I then measured myself and had lost 2 inches in my waist and 4 in my hips! I am thinking the weight training is starting to add on some muscle - that's what I am saying to make that 1lb more bearable. emoticon

This is my first post, I'm a single mom of 4 busy kids so I get to lurk more than post. This week I lost 2.5 pounds. I am down 9.1 pounds so far. I eat around 1200-1250 calories a day, walk daily for a half hour on the treadmill with my heart rate at 155bpm, and this weeks my kids have added us doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred as a family.

Hope everyone is doing well this week.

Hey all, I lost 1 lb this week, so elated!

NSV are: more rested, sleeping without waking up in the night (I used to wake up like 3-4 times a night), more energy, no more headaches, no longer bloated.

Today's been a bit tough, but I'm sticking with it! emoticon

My first week weigh in was this morning, I lost 6.5lbs this week! emoticon I worked very hard at it, I stayed in my lower calorie range everyday, drank 8-12 waters each day and went to the gym almost every day! Hope everyone else is kicking butt to! emoticon emoticon

Just weighed in this morning, and I'm down 3.5 pounds from last week! So excited to see my changes moving me in the right direction!

emoticon The scale doesn't always tell the whole story, but it is a good starting point. You can list your weekly weigh-in weight if you want, or just pounds lost/gained.

You can also share any Non-Scale Victories (NSV) here as well!! emoticon
