:) glad to hear the symptoms are not too bad. Maybe your body will heal itself in regards to that food sooner.

So, I didn't gain any weight. YEAH!! I've even lost a little!

On the bad side, I'm a little bloaty today from the gluten. It's not very bad, but still a reaction. I guess I will be keeping it out of my diet for a while. I'll reintroduce again late.

Next week is dairy!

Okay. I folded. I decided to have gluten today. I was out with some friends, and as there was nothing on the menu that fit in the plan (Big Biscuit), I had a slice of wheat toast dry. So far, I cannot tell a difference, but we'll see. As stated earlier in the thread, even if I'm not sensitive, I will still avoid 95% of the time. On to day 2 of adding gluten...

Very very anxious to see if I gain weight tomorrow.

I do not like using protein powders.
I have been eating beans, rice and rotating chicken, fish, beef, pork for supper.
I think I am getting enough protein w/o additional shakes.
For snacks I have been having walnuts or almonds.
I know I may not be following her diet exactly but it is working for me.

Waiting longer just gives your body more time to heal. It's up to you. The most recent group on here tested egg first. Even after you test gluten and soy she suggests to still avoid it 95% of the time.

I don't know enough about it yet, Gwen. I guess ask others here or follow the book.

DANAWUTZKE and I*AM*BLESSED, I am so glad you said that! I really think I'll stick with Cycle 1 at least another week. Surely it can't hurt, and it might help. :)

That leads me to another issue. Which food should I add back first. Should I just follow the book suggestions?

DANAWUTZKE...I just thought the same thing about repeating Cycle 1. Tomorrow is Day 21 for me and I've done well so far. Think I'll stick with it for another round with the 7 things still cut from my diet.

I think you could benefit from doing cycle one longer. The hubby and I tested eggs one day. We decided after that, we would stay on cycle one longer (although eggs are for sure out for me) we figured we are on a good thing, why change it? There isn't really any foods that you should eat and are better left out.

Cheri and DIVAMAMAOFTWO, I eat steel cut oats in the morning. Plenty of fiber and protein. I'm never hungry before lunch! I also drink tons of water throughout the day, so I'm sure that helps! :)

Btw - throwing a tbsp or 2 of nut butter in the oats while cooking = yummy!

DIVAMAMAOFTWO:

Actually, the purpose of the powder is for the protein. Protein is what makes you feel satisfied. I have found, myself, the more protein in my diet, the fuller I feel and the less likely i am to over eat.

Unless you have an alternative for protein, I would suggest finding a good powder to use. They all taste a little "bad" and take some getting use to. But once you add the coconut milk and fruit, the better they taste. I have been using the Sunwarrior brand, Warrior Blend Raw Protein (plant based) Vanilla. It's actually pretty good. It mixes well (with a blender) and is not gritty or chalky. I found it at Vitacost.com and for the size and money, it's not a bad deal....47 servings for $39.11.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Thanks for the feedback about the powders. I am starting the program on Sunday and purchase the powders as directed. I'll give it a shot but good to know that you can drink the shakes without the powder.

However, are the shakes w/o the powder filling/satisfying? Are you hungry even after the shakes?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GREAT TO START, BUT YOU HAVE TO START TO BE GREAT!!!

I love them, without the powders, but with the powders - YUK!

So... I'm not doing them. Today was day 21 for me, and I feel fantastic! I've learned so much about food, and I'm definitely taking more care in what I choose to eat or put on my table.

I only have about 10-15 lbs left to lose, and I can easily see it happening for me with this lifestyle change.

One thing. I am really anxious about adding in the new foods on Cycle 2. I am actually thinking about staying on Cycle 1 for a bit longer, just to train my mind and body.

What do you think?
