i am a bit late on answering some messages... but it sounds like a ood plan..

i have been here a few years.... and not till just recently i started having success. . i have slowly elliminated some things in my diet... and finally getting results... and yes it does get easier. oh i still ''want'' things... but i no longer crave them

It is very hard but I am trying and if I can resist I am ok if I give in then I am done! He will only ask once if he ask at all so as not to temp me to much.

I am in upstate NY. We have been getting decent snow this year which is great since we were not for several years.

I was 124-127 all summer and fall but back into the 130s since holidays and I cannot get out of it this time. I need buckle down and I will get there.

A big difference for me was moving in with my boyfriend since he does not eat as healthy as I do so I need to watch myself more and not be tempted. I noticed also I am okay when we do not have my daughter staying but when she is here I eat a little worse also. Just need to watch it more.

I am in WI (NW). Where are you?

It took me years to get there and then it took switching to a vegetarian diet before I could get out of the 130's.

I was a meat and potatoes gal. who ate very few veggies! Sounds like we need to half our taste buds and we can help you get there too!

Hi sounds like we are in the same area. My weather is same, hopefully we will be in summer/spring mode in May.
I am still trying to get to maintenance I do not think I ever will! I am still battling. I have never had trouble with weight till in my 40s.
I am opposite. I can eat fruit all day long but do not get enough veggies.

It's Saturday! I made more than enough veggies yesterday but I still don't like fruit! I did try. I can easily eat 6-7 servings a day of veggies but. . . I have been enjoying exercising so much that I have increased minutes and am now burning more than one-half the calories I am taking! Has any of you tracked and and does it create a problem when in maintenance.

Feeling pretty good about servings today-have 4 so far and when I get back from my dog-walking job, I've planned a snack of raw broccoli-that should help my veggie count and fiber quota for today. Wish chocolate was a fruit or at least high in fiber... emoticon ...oh. well at least this challenge is giving me a chance to compare then make good choices. Good suggestion about Chef Meg-think I'll mosey on over that way tomorrow for some fresh ideas. Good thing I like just about all vegetables except lima beans. emoticon . Have a good weekend!

I can hardly wait until spring but that is May (if I am lucky) for me...So I will have to wait longer than you it seems! In the meantime I have to get calories up for maintenance! (Lost another l b. this week so far) I finally got up to 1030 calories for me that is about 150 more and I was able to distribute pretty much between carbs, fat and protein. I know I am in maintenance but I can tell you that I have been in weight loss my whole life! What I did to get here is really hard to change!

I love Chef Meg! She has given me so many ideas. Use Sparkpeoples search engine and type in her name. I can relate to all of you. I crave carbs, especially white foods. They are poison to my system especially processed foods ( those prepared boxed foods). I eat them sparingly and measure what I eat of them. Like you noticed the less I eat of them the less I want of them. I can't wait for summer so I can experiment growing many of my own :)

This is good for me to hear...I have been having a little trouble with cravings.....and doing okay with getting past them. It is a head thing for me and yeeeeeears of bad habit.

That being said, I love vegetables and am branching out a bit with the help of frozen veggies. I like the ease of steaming what I want when I want.

I never ate any vegetable (except for potatoes with gobs of butter) until I became a vegetarian for both moral and health reasons! Now I have learned how to cook them and serve them in so many ways that I almost have panic attacks if I can't get them! I still eat pasta because there are so many ways that it enhances my veggies!!! But I have never been a sweet eater as I have never like the highs and lows of sugar so it sounds like maybe I was using my spuds as an addiction!

Isn't it amazing? I'm a carb addict but discovered once I was able to get past a certain amount of time, I wasn't craving them. I still eat bread and pasta now and then, but I've got my body craving protein and veggies now.

emoticon I use a lot of cinnamon to help me with my cravings and it works so well. Now sugar and some carbs are the furthest things from my diet

When I started Sparkpeople I craved sugar and had bad cravings at night time. Now I don't want anything sweet and I'm not craving food at all. It's amazing how little food even crosses my mind. I eat whatever I want, hiding veggies in everything. Stick with it, it does get so easy.
