I'm following the Mediteranean Diet. I love that eating plan. I'm not in favor of the word 'diet' but that's how it is known.

Now if I could just get myself moving more I think it would help.

Yea i kind of blew off the "5 veggie" challenge, which was what i signed up for in the first place!!! A challenge i figured would be a snap, as I do like my veggies. Well shortly after signing up, i came down with a 2-day migraine (for me these come complete with extreme sensitivity to light and smell) so that threw a damper on my desire for curried veg stir fry etc. lol!. Then the "restaurant birthday party night" sigh, i traded veggies for wine and cake (first time eating cake in 2 months - and it WAS NOT THAT GREAT!). Then yesterday I started the day off right with a salad-type dish for breakfast, ended up out of the house and mostly at the hockey arena (really terrible food choices there), so rather than eat "bad" food I ate hardly anything and came in "under my range" for the first time ever.

So!!! Considering my "weigh" day is Saturday, I figure Sunday is an appropriate "Day 1" and I am now mentally prepped to go for it! :D

Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE**
Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)

Thanks for the quote. My son got married this weekend, and my eating was not what I want it to be. Time for me to get back on track, too.

I blew off week 2. I don't remember when I signed up for this challenge, so it may have been two or more weeks.

Hang in there. You are definitely not alone.

Thanks for your post. I noticed your name on the top of the list of most active participants, so clearly you have the motivation that I seem to lack. I love your little logo...but I'd need it re-worded to say "if quilting..."

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

I hardly remember signing up for this Challenge, but I need it. However, trying to start last week wasn't realistic for me. But this week WILL BE BETTER! Or more specifically, less hectic and stressful, God willing.

I seem to be able to eat within my range, log my food and exercise for about 3 days before I crumble. During those few days I feel good and drop pounds, but for some reason, I still revert to old and unhealthy behaviors which make me feel lousy.

Yesterday I saw a quotation which I am going to add to my status:

We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment. -- Jim Rohn

Best wishes to all who struggle along with me.
