Sounds like a plan, even if you post the picture here in our gallery!!

Most of the recipes I make are beautiful because they are delicious and easy to make. I don't think they particulary fit the "Beauty" theme of this contest. Now, do a contest about your favorite "Goto" AA recipe, or your favorite AA comfort food recipe and I'm on it!!

Afraid mine would look like a tasty mess, Brave-one, but may ask a kid attached to her camera at work to consider it for me. Thanks!

Buddha33, remember to take a pic and submit the recipe for the contest. It ends Saturday, March 4.

Easy enough to enter. I've sent in 2 recipes with pictures. My favorite recipes, though the pictures weren't so beautiful!!

I love Italian and this sounds really nice. I will try making it as my soup for the week.
I was losing weight when I had soup for my breakfast and beans are good for energy and satiety.

Forgot pasta suggestion. We use small sea shells, whole grain if possible. But orzo is okay. What I like about this stew is that the spice is what makes it, everything else is optional or subsitute-able. The onion, the garlic, the thyme, the pesto are key...Would also hate to leave out tomatoes and beans

I work two jobs four day a week. I cook up big batch stuff on Sunday to have real food to take with me. Stews and casseroles save my life. I like things that throw lots of different veggies together. Sometimes all that changes is the spice. For instance, cumin and chili powder in place of the Mediterranean spices makes this a Mexican stew...

Great! Leave out the red wine, or use drry white wine, or use a little red wine vinegar. This stew won't miss it!

Love Italian. Love the recipe. I'm ready to make it tomorrow, but I don't seem to have any red wine. Do you have a substitute to suggest? Also, what small pasta do you use? Like Orzo?

Devinitely AA. I think your pesto is the addition that will make the difference.

THANKS FOR THE RECIPE. I 've tried many versions, most are both good and good for you. Keep the spices, vary the herbs and veggies according to what is available.

I know it's Italian, but you've got to try my minestrone, Bravelute. The only ingredients that aren't AA or a G-Bomb is a zucchini and two cups of cooked pasta. You can make those optional ingredients....Here's the list:

Olive oil
1 and 1/2 onion, chopped
2 carrots, coined
4 cloves minced garlic
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 tsps. fresh thyme (or 1 tsp dried)

26 oz. boxed chopped tomatoes (or equivalent fresh)
8 0z. mushrooms, sliced
1 zucchini, cut into half coins
1/8 wedge of red cabbage, sliced thin
1 bay leaf (optional)
a bit of salt (optional)
black pepper

1 15 oz can canellini beans (or cook own, AND use whatever bean you please)
2 cups cooked small pasta (or not)
10 oz. fresh baby green spinach (or kale or other green leafy)
1/2 cup red wine
2 or 3 Tablespoons prepared pesto (or make your own - basil, parm, garlic, walnuts)

A long list but so easy...

Put oil in large pot and heat up. Add everything through the thyme. Let these soften somewhat. Then add to pot everything from tomatoes through black pepper. Let these cook about 10 minutes to soften. the add everything else, beans through pesto. Cook until pasta has plumped and softened.

Wow...
