Glad your back on track Kristen, how much you lose by christmas is not important, whats important is your back and your working hard on trying to get healthier. Exercise is a big part of it, when I first started I didnt really do exercise I thought I was losing great with out it and then I hit a brick wall in the summer. I dont know why I thought I could do it with out exercise and makes me mad to think how far I could be if I would of did from the beginning. I have learned from my mistake and I am working hard with eating right and exercising now and I can feel the difference.

Well, I will definately not meet the total 50 lbs. by Christmas because I got so off track and pretty much stopped doing anything for the whole month of August and September but I'm back on now so maybe I can lose 20 which would put me at 30 lbs lost total since starting this instead of 50. I'm happy about that. I will not be weighing for two weeks because this is my first two weeks back on and I've added exercise in to my program.

been out of town the pass 2 weeks visiting i'm doing great havent gained anything, which is good cause i stayed focus but i couln't post my workouts and log anything but i'm here now! and everyone seems to still be doing great!

I am back from Kansas. Weighed this morning, still at 296, so no loss. But, considering I had no computer access and didn't track, and I did splurge on occasion, I guess no gain is a victory in and of itself.

Back to tracking today.

Jan, I'm 26 so I know how irrational it is to feel old but I do because of the weight I feel like I'm in my 40's already and I hope that when I'm in my 40's that I will feel like I'm in my twenty's since I really don't know what that feels like right now. Having this kind of body hurts and wears you down day by day. It sucks.... dang that depo shot....

Hey all. I'm leaving Monday for a 10-day trip to Kansas, so I'm going to count this morning's weigh-in for next week's.

I've finally arrived in Twoterville - 296 this morning - giving me a 9 pound loss towards the total 50. Only 41 more to go . . . yay . . . I might actually be able to do this.

And Kristen, I don't remember how old you are, but I was 50+ when I went back to college for my Masters. I bought the best-fitting jeans my body would accept at the time, got rid of my gray hairs, and went for it. I had the time of my life. You go girl!!

kristin, you can do this. As soon as you get use to how your routine goes each day I am sure you will be able to plan out your weeks so they work. Change sometimes takes time to readjust to but you can do it!

Thanks Jan, yeah I was nervous about going back to school and thought I would be the only one older than 18 with kids but I'm not and it is actually alot of fun... alot of work but it's still nice to have something I can do for me.... I've been missing that for a while being a stay at home mom now for 2 years.... I was starting to feel lost. I needed something that was for me and time to focus on something that was for myself.

Hi all... I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't been on due to step-daughter coming home from visiting her mom. I didn't realize how much the kink in DH and I's routine goes out the window when she comes home now (she's been away at college for a year and visited with her mother this summer). She won't use the milk we use and she won't eat some of the things we have prepared. Before, when she was living with us and the first year of college, this wasn't an issue, now since she was with her mom, she's being difficult. She will be going back to college in about a week to a week and a half and then back to regular routine and hopefully that great step-daughter that I had before she left in May... *fingers crossed*
So, eating has been out of whack, exercising has been out of whack, everything has been.

I am going to do my weigh-in today because this is the first time I'm having to get on here in days and I don't know when I'll be able to get on again.

Yikes! I knew I had gained since I got down to 315, but not this much. Today was 325. Very grateful fot these challenges to keep me accountable. I want to be 300 by Sept 1... yeah, I'm dreaming! I'm gonna give it my best to be back to 315, maybe even 310. Let's keep moving! We CAN do this!!

tisk tisk, that's no attitude to have. Don't say that! I have been overweight since birth. I came in this world 2 weeks late and at 10lbs. I have always been the fat kids, fat lady, fat whatever. If I can loose weight anyone can. You just have to find the right motivation. My motivation is not to let diabetes run my life! U can do it!

Congrats to the losers LOL

I gained... I'm at 292.6 this morning. I know why I gained, I ate away from home way too much. The sodium is kicking me in the butt and now I must retaliate. If I let that 2.6 pounds get me down, I'll just add to it.

So, my goal is 4.5 pounds for next week. if I do that, I will still be on track. It's a lot to lose in one week, but I will try!

My nutritionist weighs me fully clothed in the evening, I weigh myself completely nekkid in the morning... I have actually weighed myself at home right before going to her to be weighed and our scales are only .2 lbs off from each other so I rather go with my morning weigh in because it's always a little lower before I've eaten LOL!
I wouldn't suggest weighing in on another scale either, just wait until you get home. Consistency is key in all aspects of this journey.

Kristen, I do hope it's a loss next week. Where I'm at is the most I've been able to lose since starting my battle with that dang shot. Now I just have to keep making it go down down down!!! LOL
I look forward to seeing you dropping those pounds like you have been also.

That sounds good Jan. It's good you don't weigh on a different scale because that can be very frustrating.... if the number is bad or even good because you don't know what's right and it can stress you out (it happened to me before)

Hi everyone. I'm at my daughter's in Pittsburgh this week, and I can't weigh on her scale (I think it only goes to 300 and I'm still a few pounds over that - I just keep getting an "error" message), so I'll just weigh in next Monday if that's okay. I'll be home then. Her scale most likely doesn't match mine anyway, so the tally wouldn't be accurate.

308.2 whoo hooo

I am not rounding off like I originally said, I like the ounces, it is more accurate, I would feel like I was lying if I said 308.... I am so excited, I thought this was going to be a horrible weigh in because of my bad week....

lost 4.2 lbs. since last week.... awesome..

I am glad you are feeling better. I totally agree on the sodium thing. I still use quite a bit of the lean cuisine and weight watchers frozen entrees for portion control and they are loaded with sodium. Rarely do I stay under the 2300mg daily and I don't use a salt shaker. I have added the Naked Juices to my daily meal plan M-F as they are loaded with potassium(which helps balance out the sodium) are super filling and very yummy. I eat a lot of salads as lettuce is relatively cheap. I buy strawberries when on sale, clean them and then freeze some of them for later. I have been getting 4lbs of Driscoll strawberries for $4.99(normally $11.99/4lbs). Bananas are cheap. I also eat a lot of canned green beans and canned white corn.
It is truly sad that eating healthy cost so much more. It should be the other way around.

KLC.... You could just be retaining a lot of water, I know when I do I really feel like I am so huge. Try drinking more water, if your not tracking your sodium on your nutrition tracker you should it is an eye opener. Sometimes we just dont realize how much salt is already in foods we eat.
As for eating healthier on a budget, there are many articles on Sparks that can help you with this. If you have a farmers market in your area I would take advantage of that as much as possible you get seasonal produce at much cheaper cost.
We all have them days when we feel bad, just try to look back at those days when everything went well it will make you realize how well you are doing and that it will get even better you just need to give it time.

I feel so fat today, like I haven't lost one pound.... since I know I haven't gained all 19 lbs. back in one week... I know this is not possible but I just feel humungo.... I put on a pair of jeans today that are supposed to be my loose jeans but they feel constricting. I am so disappointed in everything I've done this week (destroyed any possibility of losing an inch) I just don't feel very good about anything right now.... everytime I start getting short on food in the house I start eating worse and worse.... I wish I had like 600 dollars a month for food so I could eat salads and fresh fruits and veggies all the time.... but unfortunately I only have 260 a month which is difficult to do healthy on.... I'm trying to stay positive but it's becoming very difficult and I am the leader of this Christmas 50 challenge and I just don't want to let anyone of you down more than not wanting to let myself down....

This has been the worst week since starting this in June.... I have to pull through somehow, these hormones need to subside....

Reading everyone's posts has encouraged me today and is helping me stay on track. I had gotten away from tracking my nutrition, but have done it today and packed my food for the day, too! Any amount of weight gone is that much less that I don't have to carry around every day! Here's to losing! emoticon

I am in for this. I weigh in with my nutritionist on a tuesday(once a month, now), I like to officially weigh on fridays, but I weigh just about everyday (yes, I'm addicted! LOL) so monday would be fine.

I need this first 50 pounds gone. 10 pounds a month is feasible at this point. DH and I are preparing to try and have a baby (Have to wait until Feb to actually address possible infertility issues if we haven't gotten pregnant by then) If I keep at the 10 pounds a month and lose that 50 by christmas, I will be closer to 220 which is a lot healthier than where I'm at now. My doctor did say 50lbs would be ideal to lose before trying, so I'm all for that!
So far in July, I've lost 3.6 lbs, I'll do my official weigh in for here on Monday with the rest of you though :)

I weigh in on Wednesday but there generally isn't much change on the following Monday.
I have added it to my spreadsheet so I know when to weigh in.

Alright, I'm so excited... this was a better turn out than I expected and I am happy that we will always do this together.... this is a day by day struggle but I want this weight gone more than anything right now and it would be so great to have 50 lbs. gone by Christmas, that's a whole new wardrobe... Great Christmas present. We will all need to support eachother and I am on here daily several times a day so if anybody feels the need to binge just get on here and talk, talk about the reasons you want to eat, most of the time we're not even hungry, we're just searching for something to make us feel better inside but all the food ends up doing in the end is making us feel worse. I need to put 100% effort forward if I'm going to make this goal and I admit that I have been doing about 80% up til now and that just won't get it done. This is our lives and if we don't take care of ourselves who will???? So let's go team Christmas 50.... Let's get the job done, we can do it!!!!!!!!

My weight loss has started to slow down now I would definitley love to get another 50 off by christmas that would be about 110lb loss for the year. I just not sure at this point if its possible, now that I've been at it for almost 8 months. I wish those of you well on this, I don't want to get down if I can't do this so I will pass on this and if I do lose that much I will be just amazed and happy.
