Nan, I don't do anything special to quickly lose the pounds. I try to be VERY good about sticking with my meal plan Monday through Friday. That means eating similar things for each meal, every day. I vary it sometimes so I don't get horribly bored, but I like what I eat so it usually isn't too much of a problem. I track my food, and I aim for the low end of my calorie range. On the weekend I do as I please, but I try not to go too wild.
It's sure easy to rack up the calories, I know. Unless I track my food, or I eat what I know to be in my calorie range, I find myself in trouble easily.

SCALES!#$%^&*(*&^% How often do you weigh yourselves, ladies? I am addicted to checking my weight too often since I purchased a new scale. My last scale shattered when I flipped it against the bathtub, so I bought one that wasn't glass. Now I'm constantly checking it to make sure that it is accurate.
Though I have spent more time working out, I'm not monitoring my food intake very well. The last time I tracked what I had eaten in a day my total calories were about 1800, which shocked me. I wish our garden would hurry and produce some good vegetables to help me eat better. Our tomatoes should be ready to eat next week. MMMMMM!
Judy, what do you do to shed those extra pounds so quickly? .......and, JJ, now that we have a few cooler days, are you able to walk more often? We're in this together, ladies, so let's help each other reach our goals.

Good news! Stepped on the new scale this morning and it registers only 3.5 pounds up from my lowest weight. I am very happy! I'll get rid of those pounds quickly and be on to "new" pounds lost. (I never record pounds gained once they're lost! Too negative for me!) I'm glad to be on track and focused on my goals again after all the celebrating! So JJ, yes, I like my new scale!!

Thanks, Nan! No, I'm not sick of birthday cake yet. Our family learned years ago that we would not be having cake with each birthday unless we all wanted to be permanently sick of it. We all choose something different!

I am totally afraid to get on my new scale when it gets here. I feel fat, and am worried about how many pounds I may have gained through all of that frolicking. Don't know whether I said previously that my scale broke about 10 days ago. Haven't weighed in since. Yikes! I plan to get very serious again tomorrow morning and stick with it.

How nice to see Judy back with us. Happy birthday and anniversary.....are you sick of birthday cake??? JJ celebrated her birthday while you were busy with all of your festivities. Though I have been trying to watch my diet, I think I gained weight through osmosis just hearing about your birthdays. I have quit tracking my daily food intake, which makes me lazy about eating healthy.
Hi after being gone for awhile. I'm still only going to have a little bit of time every day or every other day to check in here. We've had SUCH a busy July, and it continues into August. I miss checking in every day, but I'll get back to it as things slow down.
Our 5 busiest days of the year in our family are in July (my mom's bday, my oldest son's bday, my bday and my (our) anniversary). They have all come and gone now, but I'm far behind now!

Thank you Nan for starting a new post for July. I was given the bike that I thought I just needed to get tubes and tires for but there was more wrong with it so I still do not have a bike. I am not working and my husband has to pay all the bills so I don't have the money to buy one. I was trying to buy like a couple of things each week but when I started to add everything up it was going to take me until the end of September to get it fix and finished. I am now trying to keep my eye open at pawn shops and yard sales when I can. Hope everyone is have a great July. My birthday is on Saturday so I have to really pay attention to what I am doing so that I don't go overboard. Congrats to Judy for your loss of 4 lbs.
Can anyone tell me how to change my tracker? I have been doing my weigh ins but it is not changing. It still says that I weigh 302 but I actually weigh 280. If you know how to update the tracker I would appreciate the info.
Hey! It's July already. Summer is sliding along here in the Quad Cities. My granddaughter is already anticipating the first day of second grade, which begins on August 1. As a child, I remember summer being eternal, but she has hardly had time to enjoy the laziness of summer days because of scheduled activities. One day we actually laid in our hammock looking at cloud pictures in the sky, which I loved doing as a child. That lasted for about 10 minutes when she began seeing things I had never heard of!!!!!
It's nice to keep in touch with local Sparkers. By now JJ must have a bicycle half put together....wouldn't it be cheaper to buy one at a yard sale???? I can't believe that Judy can lose 4 pounds that fast, as I'm really going slow, losing a pound every few weeks, but keeping it off. I'm in no hurry....after all, it took me 65 years to gain these pounds!!!!!
