Chris tells us that a woman should have a Tbsp of oil, and olive oil, for instance, is 14 g of fat. So I figure that low carb days should be around that.
He lets us have flavor shots worth two fingers full- I have a bruschetta that I like, that is 1.5 grams of fat for a serving, that I use on high carb days because that's a small amount of fat to my thinking.
We aren't really to worry about how many carbs it is, we are just mainly to follow his plan as what to eat.
Low carb day is the same for breakfast as High carb day- a grain or fruit or root veg worth 1 cup for women (or a combination of things)- protein and two veggies.
Low carb day otherwise is palm size and thickness of meat (4 oz is 25 ish grams) -so if you don't do meat for a meal, make sure you have some other protein that is near that.
Low carb day also has two fistfuls of veggies per meal. It has a fat per each meal.
High carb day is the same each meal- a grain or fruit or root veg (or mix of them) worth a cup, your two cups of veggies, and your protein.
I hope that helped.
Your bar would be good for reward day.

So based on your answer, what is the guideline? how would i know that. i bought it thinking it was fine...you have a carb calorie counter, i dont know how to pick foods based on anything? just curious, what makes it to much fat? (what do i stay under?) and low carb to many carbs (again, what do i stay under) i have no guidelines. so i ate one bar this a.m. thinking it was fine. now im confused moving forward.

Thank you Lamoura, ok, i have a question. I bought the AtkinsChocolate Chop Granola Bar, now, it has 200 cal, 9 fat, 19 carbs, 16 protein.
1. can i use this as both carb and protein for my snack?
2. How do you know what you can eat (outside of Chris's list) ie: its high in carbs (high carb day) and high lets say in Protein, or High in Protein ( carb day) and low in carbs, can you choose for one of your days? or can you use as a lunch (has carbs and protein - on a high carb day?

did that make sense?
I guess im trying to find out how to determine what i can eat for low or high carb day if it has a lot for both or one more than the other.....

I like Atkins advantage ready to go shakes. You can buy them at Target or Walmart, they seem to have the best price. They are low in carbs and taste pretty good. I like to use them on my way to they gym if I am running short on time. They have several different flavors. I found that they are the lowest carb shakes I could find. They use artificial sweetners. Just though you should know since some people have problems with artificial sweetners. Have a great day emoticon

thank you, that is very helpful. I was thinking about getting some of that. Also, is there any premade shakes in the stores that you think are good too? Thank you again for all the info.

Forgot to mention it is 130 calories and 2 carbs for 1 scoop of protein powder, about 105 and 27 carbs for a medium banana and 40 calories and 1 carb for the almond milk. If you add strawberries or other fruits or no fruit at all it is so much lower in carbs. This is why on my low carb day I only use half a banana or none at all. I use it as a meal. Hope this helps emoticon

I use unsweetened almond milk, it is very low carb or if I'm out of almond milk I use skim and I add splenda. I love adding bananas or strawberries for the morning since you are aloud to have protein and carbs for the first meal of the day. On the low carb day I use half a banana since they are high in carbs. emoticon

Thank you. What do you mix with all that to make a shake, do you use skim milk? or how do you mix it up so its a shake and stay as LC? and do you use that as one meal or a snack?

Elizabeth, I love the isolate soy protein by GNC. Very low carbs and 25 grms of protein for one scoop, I use the vanilla and add fruit for breakfast or peanut butter for a low carb day.
