started today with a egg white turkey sausage breakfast sand from DD, coffee with just 1/2 and 1/2, i know, no veggies, peppers in the sandwich Lamora...tee hee....
s: Dannon L&F Greek yogurt, dry roasted peanuts, fresh pole beans
l: salmon packet with mayo and grape tomatoes, fress pole beans (no bread, or crackers)
s: Dannon L&F greek yogurt, carrots and pb
d: we will see when i get home....
the greek yogurt has 12 protein and no fat. 9 carbs

High Carb day (doing a slingshot week)
Meal 1: Banana Chobani 1/2 banana 1/2 serving of Granola
Meal 2: Cottage cheese,Tomatoes and a nectarine
Meal 3: Turkey Veggie chili ( meat was protein beans carbs and veggies well veggies)
Meal 4: Shake with a banana
Meal 5: Beef roast with veggies (roasted separately because of fat) Salad Potatoes are the carb

Sorry my name is Jerry
Meal 2 I use a little PB2 with a lil almond milk for teh PB And my serving would normally be 2 string cheese so I only have one (even tho if you look on the Dr Oz show for a LC day Chris list celery PB and a string Cheese)
Meal 3: I use 2 fats just a half serving of each ( I make my own vinaigrette and use very lil oil)
Meal 4: low carb days shakes get 2 TBSP half and half
Meal 5: should have proof read that better on low carb I use ONLY cauliflower for HC I use the pasta
Thanx for the accountability it keeps me on my toes!!!

Low Carb day
Meal 1: Steel cut oats, PB2 Chocolate protein powder- perfect!

Meal 2: Celery peanut butter and string cheese (pb and cheese are both a fat...you need a protein here)

Meal 3:Salad grilled chicken xtra tomatoe cheese and dressing for fat-you have 2 fats here...pick either the cheese or dressing...not both.

Meal 4:Protein shake homemade pickled hot cauliflower ( I know salt content so I will add more water) - need a fat

Meal 5: Grilled pork chop, marinated grilled eggplant and cauliflower mac and cheese ( http://www.hungry-girl.com/misc/show/2257 ) made with rice pasta.( and rice?? Rice is a high carb no high carbs today)the rest of your meal was awesome!!

Meal 1: Old fashioned oats with unsweetened almond milk & protein powder (the protein has 3 servings of veggies in it. Yay!)

Meal 2: 3 oz ground turkey, 1 whole grain tortilla, lettuce, broccoli & hot sauce

Meal 3: 1 Banana & 1 protein shake that has veggies

Meal 4: 3 oz shredded chicken, bell peppers, onions, lettuce, salsa & hot sauce

Meal 5: I think will be a banana, cottage cheese & I'll choke down some celery lol

You would go onto your page into edit my spark page... look at the very top of that page and look at the checked boxes make sure that- only allow my SparkFriends to see my page- and -Turn my page offline- are not checked off. That should fix it. emoticon

CARIGARNER76- low carb days I have canned salmon with mayos and veges...on high carb its just a bowl of steel cut oats...or granola and with a glass of unsweetened soy milk its enough protein and calories before bed and not to filling. emoticon oh yeah and veges of course!!

L: 3 oz ground turkey, 4 oz chopped broccoli, 2 oz avocado & cholula hot sauce- perfect!

S: Boiled egg & 1 slice cheese- you do need some veges.

D: I plan to have the same thing as lunch except maybe lettuce instead of broccoli.....perfect!

I'm soooooo glad I found you guys! LOL I just bought Chris' book yesterday and am doing LC today. Would you PLEEEASE tell me if I'm doing ok so far?

B: Egg whites with bell peppers & onions & one slice ezekial bread cinnamon raisin toast with 1tsp coconut oil (I've since realized I should not have fat with the morning meal so I won't do that again)

L: 3 oz ground turkey, 4 oz chopped broccoli, 2 oz avocado & cholula hot sauce

S: Boiled egg & 1 slice cheese

D: I plan to have the same thing as lunch except maybe lettuce instead of broccoli.....

Also, if I have my last meal (snack) that I'm supposed to have it's gonna put me eating it at 9pm and then promptly going to bed. Should I go ahead & do it? Or skip it?
Any advice anyone has is MUCH appreciated!!!!

Hi DAWNAGREGG!! So glad you posting!! I will try to help you the best I can!! emoticon

meal 1 I had 3/4 cup heart to heart cereal ( 1 carb) l. 1/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 c peaches (and this would make it (2 carbs) and greek yogurt...you should really have only 1 carb... everything else looks perfect! But you do need some veges.

meal 2 apple (this is a little sketchy as 1 and a half apples is one carb) and natural pb like 1 tbs ( pb is a total no no on high carb day as its a fat) and you do need some veges, and a protein. Like chicken or cottage cheese or my fav a protein shake emoticon

meal 3 turkey on a low carb thin tortilla, a pickle and a piece of string cheese ( cheese is also a no no on high carb day as its a fat) and you really do need more veges then just a pickle. Turkey is a very good protein as long as its not deli. And is the tortilla whole grain??

meal 4 - 2 small pieces grilled hamburger meat (good protein as long as its lean or extra lean), small slice of pepper jack cheese ( no cheese as its a fat), small salad with strawberry vinegrette, 1 cup of black beans(these are considered a high carb), with rotel (is rotel a carb?)and a few black-eyed peas(and so are these considered a high carb) so you had 3 high carbs and you only want to have one. and no fat today.

meal 5 - 1/2 cup cottage cheese with peaches the fruit is all unsweetened.. awesome! But you need some veges!!.

Hope this helps...now with low carb you are to have your breakfast as a high carb day to start off your day then its at every meal after that..1 protein, 1 fat and TONS of veges and a flavor if you choose. emoticon

ok after reading every ones posts I really think I am not getting this :(
today was day 1 for me and I started on the high carb day..

I usually count PB2 as a flavoring depending on how I use it. I mix 1Tbsp in my oatmeal for high carb meals and I have added 2-4 Tbsp to protein shakes for low carb. (which I count as fat, because well it is)

Lamoura it has 45 calories for 2 Tbsp

PB2 is a type of peanut butter product. Nuts are dry roasted and pressed so most of the oil and product are removed. For 2 TBSP (dry powder) there are 1.5g of fat, 5g of carbs and 5g of protein.

Amanda, I HATE veggies emoticon . In fact, my veggie limit is green beans, cucumbers, and celery as long as it has some peanut butter on it. After three weeks, I got so tired of eating the same veggies. So, I made some homemade veggie soup. Now, I "cheated" a little bit to make the soup taste right. It does have very few potatoes, peas, and lima beans in it. But, it doesn't seem to be affecting me any so far. The soup just gets some veggies in me that I don't like.

Also, on your low carb days, get some all natural peanut butter and spread it on some celery (if you like that). It is pretty good.

Hi awesome going with your meals!! You'll get this!! Cucumbers! Yum! I love carrots, green beans, peppers I eat like fruit!! Theres lots out there just pick and choose and enjoy...don't be scared to try new veggies there all good...except egg plant...yuck! lol. I love Cauliflower and you can use it instead of potatoes on a low carb day. emoticon

Thanks for the input. I guess I overlooked the no fat for meal 1 so I'll have to remember that for next time. I think the hard part for me is getting in the veggies for every meal because I get tired of eating the same ones over and over. Any suggestions on some great veggies to try?

Congrats on completing your first day. For meal 1, you aren't supposed to have any fats which the cheese would be.

For meals 2 and 4, don't forget your veggies. I know it is a lot of veggies. But, try to eat them at each meal if you can.

Today is my first day and I was hoping someone could take a look at my menu and let me know if it's okay?

LC Day

Meal 1: Egg white breakfast burrito with veggies and lowfat cheese in a low carb tortilla
Meal 2: Cottage cheese and string cheese stick
Meal 3: Tuna salad with mayo and veggies inside a lettuce leaf
Meal 4: Protein shake and whole almonds
Meal 5: Extra lean ground beef patty topped with veggies and mustard and a side salad with lowfat dressing

Meal 3: yep oils
Meal 4: sorry forgot theres a new dip out by oikos 25 cals for 2 tbsp
Meal 5: butter and blue cheese on teh steak and butter on the broccoli (actually butter = smart balance ) and oil used to fry veggies (just a sprtitz but real EVOO)

I cook the oats in a crock pot over night. I usually make enough for the week. When I serve then I add 1/2 scoop of whey protein and 2 tbsp of PB2 and a lil almond milk til I like the texture. Sometimes I use a banana in place of the PB2.

lunch is salmon packet....was there bread with this salmon packet??? (if no bread it was perfect!!), veggies, and mayo,

oh my goodness, just discoverd Dannon Light and Fit greek yogurt, 80 cal, 0 fat 8 carbs, 6 sugars, so its my snack on LC day. Had Jimmy Deans breakfast sandwich with egg whites and ham on whole wheat eng muff. having along with the yogurt, veggies and peanut butter, lunch is salmon packet, veggies, and mayo, snack in afternoon, more yogurt and veggies with pb. yay? working on dinner when i get home, prolly chicken or something and salad....hope the weekend was good.

I make my own sauce I know Franks is a lil high in salt so I try to drink more water. The sauce is the spray butter and franks red hot with some onion powder and garlic powder

Meal 3: Chicken salad with greens and ranch dressing
Meal 4: Protein shake celery and Peanut butter
Meal 5: grilled Chicken w/ Buffalo sauce (my own) Cauliflower and a salad

As an added note since starting I am down about 26 lbs, which as big as I am is a start. But on my measurements I am down a total of 8 inches. so the scale is not the best measurement tool

Don't worry about that scale your losing inches and your doing great!! I never ever weigh myself ...I take measurements...the scale and I are not on friendly terms!! The scale can not tell you how much body fat you lost or how muscle you gained or how much water retention your body has...it will only tell you the total of weight..that's it... the way you feel inside, the way your clothes fit, and the inches that come off are the stuff you should really focus on and care about. emoticon

So I put a pair of pants on that were to tight and they zippered and are comfortable now.. woohoo. cant believe it, didnt lose the pounds, but apparently lost inches...so excited. this can be done!
Here goes:
B: Flat bread eggwhite turkey sausage sand at DD 290 cals. Protein is 18, no veggies, well peppers in the sandwich
S: 2 eggs adn cheese stick
L: salmon packet with mayo, carrots, peppers, grape tomatoes, mozz chs stick
S: Cottage cheese, walnuts, carrots, peanut butter 2 tblsp
going to measure myself tonight and keep track too. we will see about the poundage lost this week...keep fingers crossed.....

S: Dannon Light &Fit 50 cal, 0 fat, 3 protein, 7 sugars, 9 Carbs ( 0 carbs would have been beter as it is low carb day and more protein would have been better),cheese stick- good fat.You needed some veges.

L: salmon packet ( its just the salmon right with no crackers??) mayo, summer squash- awesome!

S: cottage cheese, walnuts- missing some veges here as well...veges help keep you full and keep the cravings away...you need to really work on the vege intake.
