I have to agree with the girls, Trish, You're the SuperStar!. Way to go for all of you! No matter what your times were, the important things are that you did what you like and had a great time, you finished your races upright and injury free!
Your determination is awesome!
Have a great rest of the week and start training for the Valentines day Run!

Finished mine in 48:20. I'm a slow wogger but I have all year to keep improving that time!
Way to go ladies on your finishes! Getting it done is more important that how long it takes. Especially considering the conditions we are each facing!

My time was slower too, damn runny nose! But the important thing was to finish upright! I agree, awesome idea for the race Trish! Felt good to have the gym (almost) to myself

Thanks Karen! That positive energy worked. I did it in 32:12, taking 5 minutes off the last race time.
Can I just say it is freezing and I want Spring already. That basement was cold. Need more long sleeve shirts to start my workouts with.
GO TEAM! Go get that trophy!!!

VP- That sounds painful. Hope it just sounds bad.
I was feeling some pain on my lower back and a friend pointed out it was a sign of weak core muscles, crazy how the body is all connected I'm also feeling sore ankles, but I think that had more to do with yesterdays adventure than the 10K.

This will be my first run back since the 10km. I took this week off since I pulled something in my stomach on Sundays run. Darn hills! No worries and I am almost mended completely :) Looking forward to starting the year off right and working on those core muscles more!

No Paula, you aren't asking too much! lol Hope the weather holds up. Most of our snow on the sidewalks from last night has thawed today.
I need to get on that treadmill tonight and this week. This body is going to be struggling with the 5k. May end up being more walking than running:)

Just signed up this morning. I just did my Virtual 10k today after running over 4 miles yesterday so I signed up for the 5k.
Going to try to better my time from the last 5k. If I can do it outside I'm sure I can. Hoping for a tiny bit of fair weather. I just need no rain, no snow on the sidewalks and at least 30 degrees.
Am I asking too much????!!!!!???? LOL

I get anxious thinking about the 10K I may have to cut myself some slack and not force myself to jog the whole thing
I'm slightly more excited about the New Year's Day 5K, since I plan to get to the gym at a time when most resolutioners will still be sleeping. (At least I hope.) I hate how packed the gym gets in January.

Of course you can do it! Even if you just walk the 5K on New Years Day you are completing a virtual race. Time doesn't matter. It is just a way to kick start our New Year!
Way to go on committing to two races - especially a 10K! You CAN do it - believe in yourself!

Oh lord! I'm in panic mode now. I told the bf about the New Year's Day 5K and he asked, "What happen to the 10K?" So it hit me that Christmas week I have the 10K to do, then the New Year's Day 5K is the following week!! He says I can do it (since its two separate weeks), but I'm a bit scared!!

V - thanks for adding the link to the virtual race to make it 'official'. I had forgotten that there is a link for each week now. I agree - I like getting the virtual award!
Karen - no worries if you don't want to participate. The only person you are racing against is yourself though. Even a committed 1 or 2 mile walk can be a virtual race.

Hi Trish,
Congratulations on your Turkey run. I'm glad you found a goal that you like and keeps you contributing to your better health. I've never participated in a race, virtual or actual so it's something to think about. I'll always be cheering you on and let me know if there is something I can do to support your effort!
Have fun and keep wogging!

If you are at all like me, I train better when I have a race projected on the horizon. I just wogged Run Turkey Run 5K on Thanksgiving so it is time for me to work on my next goal. I decided to challenge myself to a virtual 5K on New Years Day on my treadmill. (I am a fair weather wogger (walk/jog).
I'd love it if you'd join me. Plan something that will work for your journey whether it be a walk, jog, run, swim, crawl or bike ride (just some examples), etc. Plan a distance that challenges you and make a commitment here.
Finally, lets encourage each other's training between now and New Years Day!
