Wal-Mart carries a 2 pack of very good Sports Bras for round $10 but make sure you check the register as the cashier scans because a lot of time it scans for a dollar higher than what is on the tag! I've let the managers know this but apparently not fixing the price in the computer isn't really a major priority!

This isn't fitness gear related, but seeing I was contemplating getting myself a dress as my February weight maintenance gift, I figured I'd pass down something I ran into:
Burlington Coat Factory is donating $1 for every dress purchased from now until March 30th to support women's heart health (The Heart Truth and The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease). In case anyone else is considering dress shopping soon. Happy shopping.

I received an e-mail from Sport Authority, they're selling running gear for under $30 it's mostly running shorts, socks, and the heat gear tops. If anyone needs to get some Spring/Summer gear.

Dee I was the same way when my then husband got me my first cell phone. All I wanted was a pager. I was not happy when he came home with it, but try and take a cell phone away from me now!!! emoticon

The boyfriend got me the iphone for my birthday last year. I had a 3 year old Blackberry!! I was kicking and screaming that I didn't want an iphone, but now that I have it it's constantly in my hand!

Yeah, waiting is a good idea to prevent doubling up on the March issue.

I know! I would if I had a phone to do it with. I'm still rocking the old style slide keyboard, no internet phone. I'm too cheap to pay the extra $30 a month when I have a laptop and a kindle.

But I am going to bookmark it on both!

I want to get a subscription but since the one I bought is March I'm going to wait because I don't want them to send me the March one.

I got another one for you.

Today I picked up Women's Running magazine. Loved it. None of that, eat this weird diet and lose 10 lbs in a week crap.

Just some pretty decent advice and articles on running and runners. I got the March issue mainly because it had Jennifer Carpenter on the cover (Dexter's sister Debra from the Showtime series Dexter).

I'm thinking of subscribing. I checked out their website and it seems to have a lot of good stuff too.

Here's a link to their website

Mine are tight at the ankles, but that works for me. First because I have fluid issues, so the extra support helps, but also because I hate it when pants knock against each other or my shoes. Drives me batty!

I think the zippers are weird, when everything is tag less and flat seams to avoid chaffing.

I had tried on some Under Armour compression tights that were crazy tight around the ankles which I thought would be distracting too. Maybe I'm just picky?

I'm 5'1" and the zippers aren't doing it for me either! my tights are actually petites, from Athleta. They're the only ones I've found that are actually the right length, without bagging at the ankles.

And wouldn't the zippers chafe on long runs?

I think you can get them in a short size too in some brands. Honestly they're so tight at the bottom you can either zip them and let them bunch at the bottom or just zip them part way and let them come over your shoes.

I do the latter. I can't stand them bunched at my ankle because the zipper bunches up. Partially zipped works ok for me. Especially since the ones I got were $17 a pair instead of $25. I was eyeing more pants this past weekend and I still want to go to Walmart and get a few more of the Danskin shirts. They're so soft and comfy. I'm afraid that I won't be able to find them once they're gone.

Thanks ladies. I wanted a reward that didn't involve food for once!

What is with the zippers at the bottom of the tights? I'm 5'2" (on a good day) I could've sewn them closed at the bottom and had footsie pants! Now that I think about it, I may have to venture into the youth section!

That's great. The pants I got at jcp have the zippers too. They are a bit too long too but I don't zip them all the way. It works ok.

Great reward for maintenance!

I just had a mini shopping spree at TJ Maxx. Not sure if its happening everywhere, but the store I went to has the heat gear stuff (for summer) out already. I made out like a bandit! I went in looking for running tights (which were WAY too long and had zippers on the bottom so I wouldn't have been able to get them tailored properly) and ended up with 5 pairs of capris (Nike, New Balance, and Calvin Klein). I'm warm weather ready!
Oh I also got a wind/water resistant jacket and a long sleeve quick dry Adidas shirt.
I did spend way more than I intended to, but its my gift to me for my first month of maintenance.
(Sorry I wrote a bible, new workout clothes excites me!)

I like Kohl's too! I've gotten some great stuff from Ross and Marshalls too. You have to walk in with an open mind though (not looking for something specific or in a particular color, lol).

I've never tried the JCP clothes -- great tip!

Lately I'm all about buying off-season Athleta when it's on sale. It's a guilty pleasure. :)

But for true deals, I go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls... fantastic deals on name brands! Also, Kohl's (with sales, discounts, coupons, and Kohl's Cash) can have some amazing prices on running clothes.

May have to run into JCP... they have such great deals! Had weather cool enough to need running pants for the first time in a while this morning- unfortunately, I had to walk because after about 1/2 block my pants were creeping ridiculously low. Run, run (hitch up pants), run, run (hitch up pants) was not working for me.

Finding the right exercise clothing isn't easy I'm finding. Especially stuff that fits right. I've been picking up a piece here and there from Target the past few months. I can't remember the brand name but it is working out well for me - especially the running pants.

Good idea to start this thread!

VP, I hope you don't mind but I thought it might be nice to share any deals we find on fitness stuff.

I came across 2 things this weekend.

Walmart carries Danskin brand workout clothes. I bought a long sleeved shirt to run in that's wicking (super important to me) for $8.96. Short sleeved was $5.96. Worked like a charm! will be buying more for sure.

JC Penney is having clearance on a ton of stuff. I got 2 pairs of running pants. I wanted the fitted kind (like tights) and they are pretty pricey. They were originally $25 a pair and I got them for $17 a pair. They had TONS of stuff to choose from.
