I use a marigold based one for Watson, it seems to do the trick and he smells like flowers! It comes in a black spray bottle, I'll look up the name later.

My friend bought a repellant for dogs called PetFresh. It's Deet free and doesn't smell too bad. We sprayed it on my dog before our walk on Wednesday, then decided to try it on ourselves as well. The stuff works great and I didn't get a headache afterwards like I sometimes do after using products containing DEET.

I read somewhere that catnip works can be used as a natural repellent to mosquitoes. I wonder, if I use the catnip on Beaux, would he get swarmed by cats instead of mosquitoes. LOL

A friend of mine ordered a mosquito repellent online for her dogs and an extra one for Beaux. It should arrive by Wednesday. We also have a cold front coming in Thursday morning so I'm hoping that the cold will slow them down, if not by killing them, then at least slowing down the hatching process.

How I feel for you. I live in the high desert, So. Calif., so we don't get that many. We didn't even have as many flies as usual this year. It's been a odd year period.

May I always be the kind of person that my dog thinks I am.

I bought Happy Tales, Flea the scene. It is organic. I don't really know how good it works because in our area, we didn't have a lot of bug problem this summer. The bugs usually chomp on my Bentley pretty bad. Funny though really didn't have a flea problem either until the last few weeks. Lorraine

Skintastic contains DEET so not safe for dogs or cats.

The APCC does not recommend the use of mosquito control products that contain DEET. Dogs and cats are extremely sensitive to DEET and may develop neurological problems if a product formulated with DEET is applied to them.

I used to have this problem until I started using OFF Skintastic. It is not as strong as the regular OFF but it does the trick. NOT greasy or smelly (smells nice in fact) and I do a quick spritz over Kayla's back. It's safe even for kids. On my own skin I can't even tell I have any on. It has to be the Skintastic type. Best of luck to you and Beaux.

I tried taking Beaux for a walk this morning which lasted all of 10 minutes. We were literally swarmed by mosquitoes. I have never seen them so bad, in the 15+ years I've lived in my neighborhood. I had sprayed with OFF before leaving the house, but the mosquitoes launched a massive attack on Beaux.

I'm reluctant to walk him for a while until this mosquito problem is under control. We are supposed to have a cold front on Thursday (temperature dipping in 40s at night), so hopefully it won't be so bad by next weekend.
