Loving that you are singing emoticon Victory in Jesus ...love that song

Doctor day and why does just walking into their office shoot up the blood pressure, bring on fatigue and pain levels up three levels...grrr

can't even think about goals today except to put one foot in front of the other and eating is pretty straight forward if I stick to the plan...not even opening the door to the junk room though....

I have not been doing well on my challenge to pray more and eat less but I saw how foolish it is to run to food instead of Jesus reading Proverbs 26. I know He helped me before and I know He will help me again! emoticon Victory in Jesus

The Junk room ... emptied two boxes, started a sort of bunch of picture frames stashed in a third one ...found a treasure and put it on the wall in the hall... Needlework of a saying :

Working for the Lord doesn't pay much
But the retirement plan is out of this world.

Stitched by a dear lady like "another mother" to me and given to Mom.
They are both in heaven enjoying their retirement and this is a special bit of loving connection.

I admit I was doing good until last week when I got sick. I have not been able to do any exercise the exertion causes me to start coughing. I will get better and get back to it.

Well I got short stopped in the junk room yesterday...wanted to find some info my brother asked for about our Mom's eye condition and I thought I could get it easily...four hours later with many tears at memories [she died 7 years ago with much conflict in the family as to how best care for her and financially manage it...] and I am only half way through the drawer and can't find the info I want...so since my friend just called to say no trip to town as planned, I am going back to the shredder/drawer of pain/ emotions...It is good to be cleaning out drawer and heart and mind but VERY hard work!!!

Taking my tall glass of iced tea and heading in. Pray for me....

The one treat I give myself is Pandora radio. I pay for a year subscription then I can select my music. I have Christmas stations by Sandi Patty and Kathy Troccoli along with regular Christian music. I am able to turn it on while typing and not have to worry about what type of song I will hear.

I missed doing the Wii yesterday. Somehow it just escaped me. Not sure how that happened.

For my challenge I am trying to pray more over burdens and eat less. I did not do well on Thursday or Friday.....I binged on some yogurt. Saturday was better. Yesterday I did better as well. When I woke up in the middle of the night I drank water. DH left the house depressed(although he wasn't saying it) but I determined I would not be depressed about him being depressed....The song on the Christian radio was marvelous grace...a really encouragement to me. I also prayed about this before leaving the house.

Good for you Linda! You are doing emoticon

I tracked every day this week from Monday on! I was in my calorie range every day except one too, so that's an added bonus!

1. Storeroom got missed yesterday ...but am caught up on everything else ...
2. Foods recorded though I did mix up two days they were all in the dayplanner so just had to get 'em down and am in my # of calories - need more fiber.
3. Elliptical is getting done YEAH

May be a bit confusing because i don't try to stay up and record the same day...just fill in the blanks the next day ... I have signed up for the Winter 5% Challenge team to start soon...that may be more challenge than I can handle but I will give it the best i've got! Challenges are usually good for me for short term and so we will see how it goes.

I have to admit, I did not track my food this past weekend while we were gone to my sister-in-law's. But yesterday and today I am back on track. Five days tracking...

Pushing myself out the door...my back is really hurting today...but I am at least going to go out and get some fresh air and a walk..we shall see how long I can make it...Usually once I am out I can go awhile.

Lets keep up the good work....even if we have a bad day and don't accomplish our goal..get back on the program when you are able....keep focused..and know that it is so worth it.

Day 3: Psalm 138:8 God has a plan, His love endures forever, and we must continue the work (paraphrased understanding). I sit laughing today as I realized I have done 3 days in a row of the Wii Fit. Now the family fun is "who can come in the youngest. I can tell you it was not me. The body was not willing no matter how up and at 'em the mind was. As we go through the challenge for February I had laugh at "continue the work". Hours and days of darkness will come especially as I watch it snow again. It would be easy to wrap up and read a book by passing the goals and accomplishments that need done today. I told my daughter who gets very discouraged because of her deafness that "some days hunny life is a mystery. We just have to get up and see what God has planned for us. Others? Is like a well planned out map you go from site to site knowing what's going to happen next. But life wasn't guarranteed not to come without derailments. So it is at that time we need to remember God's love endures forever we just have to push through the work."

Belle, Thanks so much for sharing this scripture and your thoughts...I copied it into my journal with tears of thanksgiving and encouragement...
Going to make it into a 4x6 card for my exercise time and put it with my little Yorkie dog figurine that I hold as I walk or do the elliptical ..."walking my dog" and He will give me poser, strength and I will not get tired...CLAIMING IT!!

Day 2.. emptied two bags of stuff from the junk room and want to do one more today just to meet a special "3s" challenge on another team. Elliptical done 6 minutes for day 2 also YEAH!!

Day Two: i woke this morning with cold and snow in Indiana and the feeling of "do I really want to move this tired and achy body?" Well it was like I had two little angels sitting on my shoulder The "good little" angel said "yes you need to get moving, the movement whether you understand it now will only help you not hurt you." and then yes there was "the evil little" angel who was saying "stay in bed, the electric blanket will keep you warm you don't need to do anything you don't want to today." Ok yes the battle had begun....I finally prayed "Lord you know the heart and mind is willing but the body is weak....give me the strength to swing the feet to the floor and stand for you today."

I made it to the kitchen for my cup of hot chocolate donut coffee to wake me to sit with my devotional books and to start my day when this scripture jumped out at me: Isaiah 40:29,31 states "He gives strength to those who are tired and more power to those who are weak. The people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will rise up as an eagle in the sky; they will run and not need rest; they will walk and not become tired."

Putting my feet on the floor gave me strength to start the day sometimes it's the little steps and a promise of hope a day will come when the body won't ache and I won't be so tired is what is needed to progress further.

I walked 2 miles today outdoors..but it was cold and my yorkie wanted me to carry her most of the way..hmm. But I am determined to at least get out and walk every day...even if just around my block...praying for an increased happy attitude...

February...do I dare put this in writing and in public...I will clear that junk room!!

One Grocery bag full of stuff OUT every day...whether to garbage or to good will or to place it where it belongs outside of that room

If I clear that room, the reward is to get the treadmill upstairs to that room in front of a lovely big window so i can get sunshine in and see out and DO THE TREADMILL and turn half of that room into guest room and other half into scrapbooking/history recording areabut that will be another month or two..First things first and the clearing in February's goal ...

Huge goal but if one bag a day, I will succeed!!! I experimented three days of doing that this last month and I think this is doable, bitesized, measurable and reward planned!!

My goal for February is to unpack my STUFF!

My husband and I bought a house last summer, and we are slowly but surely getting "settled in" - I have a lot of boxes to open, and need to determine if I will keep, sell, or toss the STUFF in those boxes.

My goal: "A place for everything and everything IN its place."

In my mind, being organized and "settled down" will make my life easier, and more peaceful

Day One: February first has came in with sunshine and cold...but I sat thinking about the day and the challenges each of us has laid out before us. I think of the dawn of a new day. Each day brings us excitement and joy and anticipation. We all start out a new challenge excited with the sounds of the little engine that could in our heads "I think I can I think I can". But I would like to change that one simple message to "I know I can I know I can". Because we carry Philippians 4:13 in our hearts........."I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me."

Wonderful goals gals....I hope you can stay motivated and do that ONE THING....

I understand the being outdoors in cold issue...today was quite chilly but I did a walk around the block with my yorkie Lily.....

With us all working to motivate each other we can feel a sense of accomplishment towards a step in making us feel better about ourselves.

Please post how you are doing,,,thoughts,,feelings,,,issues and lets share as we work to help ourselves meet our goal this month...At the end of the month it will be exciting to see what each of us have achieved.

Great challenge Sarah! Love it!

Obviously, I would like to get more disciplined in my life again. So my goal for February is to track my food every day. I need accountability here...

Hi ladies, I am with Belle on the cold, here in NW WIsconsin it isn't conducive to much outside exercise in February, for others maybe, but not me. I have to wear so many layers I can't move! LOL! Have Raynauds and that usually rears its ugly head if I am not cautious in the winter.

So my goal will be to continue adding more steps to my day and increasing those that I do on the stairway. Second goal, to stay ON my feet and no falls on the ice outside.

I would love to walk 4 days a week but February is Indiana's hardest winter month, the bitter cold and freezing weather makes it nearly impossible. I sat thinking about the challenge for me in February and it's a double challenge (sorry the over-achiever in me).

1. I want to do 20 min. a day on the Wii exercising.
2. Lose 3 pounds

I still struggle some days with balancing my food. I'm good until that 5 pm time then it's like may brain goes out the window and I forget the goals.

Take the month of February to make ONE change to make yourself happier.
Then post what that change is and lets encourage each other to accomplish what we are setting out to do to make our life better....one small change can make a HUGE difference in our happiness.

I am going out to walk 5-7 days per week...even if it is a short walk I am getting outdoors and going as my pain level will permit.

What can you do to make yourself feel better?
I look forward to reading your goals!

Hugs,
Sarah
