SparkPeople January Jump Start Challenge for me. It keeps me strength training in a balanced, safe way with few equipment needs. It's free and it's safe and the accountability comes when I check off the goal in Other Goals every day to remind me. This is the third boot camp I've done and it is one of my favorites.

I use hand weights and my own body weight. I do all the arm and abs exercises. Once in a while I'll do my legs.
In 4 years, I've lost 123 pounds. I should be hanging from a charm bracelet by now.

I use hand weights 10-15 pounds and I also use resistance bands. Some days I do pushups, triceps dips, squats and lunges.

I have a hard time doing it at home. I'm just lazy at home so I have to make myself go to the gym. I'm working on mini home workouts but here is my thing. I have a park workout where I do a lap with wrist weights so I can do curls, lateral raises, and extensions. Then I do push-ups on the bench and sit on the edge while bringing my knees to my chest. Do another lap and then something else. On other days I go to the gym.
The possibilities always outnumber the problems. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 11/17/12 Gasping Gobbler 5k 37:38 (RR) 04/20/13 Swamp Stomp Earth Day (TR) 35:44 05/11/13 Run for Shelter 5k 37:21 (RR) 06/01/13 Grass Roots Series 3k 24:46 (TR) 06/08/13 Peace Place 5k 41:37(TR) 06/15/13 Grass Roots Series 5k 41:42 (TR) ~~~~~~~~~ Kristie

Weight training and push-ups for me. Am thinking about looking into Crossfit but don't want to pay to join as gym as it's pretty expensive - $100-$150 a month!

I lost 85 pounds a few years ago with cardio only , but had a little loose skin on my belly. So this time around I am determined to do core work even though I hate strength training !!

I do 30day shred. Or just use hand weights. 5-8 lbs. It seems like a little, but when I go up to eight it's hard. I'm going to try a spark video today. There's a nine minute workout and all you need are hand weights. Also crunches, pushups, leglifts. Oldies but goodies.

For ST, I have the 30 Day Shred and BL Boot Camp DVD's. However, I don't use them as often as I should.

I do the firm dvds every other day and they do circuit training so I get my strength training in and I do pilates.

I generally don't like exercise so I do pilates, instead of traditional strength training... It makes me feel like I've worked my "problem" areas, and the results are quick as far as transforming and strengthening muscles. It feels like not a lot of work for a lot of RESULTS!

ST is the best way to look lean and sexy. Cardio gets you there but your body shapes much different with ST. I have used in the past Jari Love dvd's and the best of all her series is "ripped 1000". Also Jillian Michaels " 30 day shread" They both are same concept that they have compound exercise followed by a minute of cardio. Your heart rate stays up and you burn a lot more calories. I recently started ST again and I am trying to build my stamina and flexibility.
Dana thanks for the pushup website. I am going to check it out. Thanks MINI_CHOCOHOLIC for the websites. they seem great.

I love Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones DVD for ST. Depending on the exercise, I use anywhere from 3-8 lbs. I know it's not much but some of her exercises are tough!
Also, these online videos usually motivate me to do ST since I want to look like them as close as possible!! The below 2 are my favorites.

Okay! I know what that is. Thanks. :)
I was on one of my other teams and they are doing a push-up challenge. There is a great website that I thought was worth mentioning if anyone is interested in doing push-ups to build a strong torso, abs, triceps, chest and shoulders! I know I am and will be starting the challenge on Monday. Here is the link to the site: http://www.hundredpushups.com/index.html I think it is definitely worth checking out. :)

A BOSU is an athletic training device consisting of an inflated rubber hemisphere attached to a rigid platform. It is also referred to as the "blue half-ball", because it looks like a stability ball cut in half. It's challenging & fun! I've posted a picture in my gallery.

I was using my exercise ball, but got away from that during the summer. The indoor things are easier to do not that I have to be indoors. Thru the summer I lifted hay bales, built a garage - lifted 2 x 4 studs, rafters, insulation, sheet metal panels . . .

I enjoy using the BOSU, free weights, and the exercise ball. Music keeps me going. Motivating others to exercise keeps me motivated, so I've partnered up with friends to exercise. I make exercise dates. I log my fitness routine in the SP tracker the night before and I make fitness index cards to refer to. Okay I have to admit I have some time on my hands, I like to be organized and I'm a little obsessive...it works for me. I'm so happy I have all of you to talk to. You're better support than a CROSS YOUR HEART BRA...am I showing my age? Are CROSS YOUR HEART BRAS even made anymore?

Nature: Right now I use the fitnessmagazine strength training routines. You get to switch up based on which challenge you pick. Right now I am using the lose 1 jeans size routine. I don't really have as much of a problem with ST as I do cardio--I hate cardio. I listen to gospel music on my mp3.

I love fitness magazine. Take a look at their site.
I have resistance band, stretchie band, dumbbells, stability ball and ab wheel roller thing (not sure the proper name for it).
I have been doing the exercises on spark and I have been using my equipment. I just have to MAKE myself do those things. I thought would could use this thread to motivate one another and find inspiration on here.
What do you do Suz for ST?

I have a hard time motivating myself to get in my strength training regularly. I have been doing good with it the past 3 weeks. Getting in 20 minutes 3 days a week. But boy is it hard for me to get motivated. I was just wondering if anyone would like to share what they like to do for ST? Do you have certain equipment you use? certain music you listen to while you do it? Do you do it at home or at the gym?
