Yesterday on Dr. Oz, a psychologist, Dr. Ramani, spoke about most of us eat when we are not even hungry, but our "hunger type" is what causes our cravings and we over eat because of this.
Hunger Type #1: Sensory .. smells, sights, sounds, make you want to eat that specific food. You smell pizza, or you see a hamburger ad on a billboard, you want it.
Hunger Type #2: Emotional... anger, sadness, boredom... you eat according to your emotion. If you are mad, do you crave something crunchy? If you are sad, do you crave something comforting, home cooking, fried? Or something filling and soft like icecream?
Hunger Type # 3: Habitual... 8am, 12pm, 6pm... you eat according to the time it is... all meals are planeed and eaten according to your time clock. Even if you are not hungry you eat at these times...
