I saved £8.24 today by stopping at the closed checkout after I'd grabbed all the stuff I wanted, and forcing myself to remove 5 items (1/3 of the things I'd picked up). I kept telling myself, "if I really need it, I'll still need it in a couple of days, I'll come back for it then and get more exercise!" And the second I got home and unpacked everything, I realized I hadn't left any holes in the pantry; everything I got rid of, I will not miss.
Just because you have been through the rain of life doesn't mean I have to walk around in wet clothes forever; there is a warm towel, a big hug, and a mug of low fat cocoa waiting for you somewhere!
Today I saved $39.86, between in-store savings and coupons used. Yesterday I saved $30.43, also between in-store and coupons. Today's trip consisted of clothing and housewares, yesterday was groceries.
It was a combo of both. The actual coupon savings was only $11 or so. Most of them were one dollar off and they doubled the ones that were less than a dollar. I bought very few things that were not on sale to start with, and I had coupons for many.
How you do anything is how you do everything...but don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
"Nobody wins unless everybody wins."
Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.- Anonymous -
