This is a great challenge. I've run across some less than positive posts lately and I don't think that's the feeling of this site.

Every day is a great day to pass on a positive remark to someone. It can make all the difference in the world to that individual and help them get through whatever issues they are facing!

What an excellent challenge! I try to hit somebody's spark page every day. I know how much that support means to me, so I figure it's probably the same for others.

I work and live in an area with a high elderly population. I do get compliments from them since they see me as a young person with their own ideals and morals. They tell me they find it encouraging. That always makes me happy!

They say it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable, but how about a compromise like moderately rich and just moody?

Me too, Lorraine. It's nice to see someone smile because your holding the door for them. Or smile because they only have 2 things at the check out and you have a cart full so you offer to let them go ahead. I run a college bookstore and it's neat to see and hear the kids reaction when I take moment and ask them how classes are going and offer words of encouragement. We're getting near the end of the year so I'm taking the time to tell them all to study hard for finals and asking if they'll be back next fall. They all know that I was new this last fall and I tell them that I'm wondering which friendly faces that I'll see when I come back in the fall. Besides, I have a son their age and I sure would want someone to encourage and look out for him when he hits college.

Every worthwhile accomplishment has a price tag attached to it. The question is always whether you are willing to pay the price to attain it -- in hard work, sacrifice, patience, faith, and endurance.

That's an excellent challenge - I try to do that at least once a day if not more, both online and offline in my everyday walk of life. It's uplifting to see others respond to a smile, or a thoughtful gesture!

Angela,
I read that quote somewhere and it just stuck with me. Since I work for military oriented 2 year college, a lot of our young men and women are committing themselves to service in the military. I have added that quote here, my personal e-mail sig file, my work sig file and I have it framed & hung on the wall over my desk at work. The kids tell me that they really like it. Thank you for commenting. FYI: I need to go find that book at our library and read it! Who knows what other quotes I'll find that will inspire me or others!

Good idea! Service to others changes people. It refines, purifies, gives a finer perspective, and brings out the best in each one of us.

Dance as though no one is watching you, love as though you have never been hurt, sing as though no one can hear you and live as though heaven is on earth.
