Good for you!! I made it through my 8 today too. Two days in a row. And my bladder is working overtime!! LOL. Hopefully this too shall pass.!.!? I wish that I could find the article I read the other day that said the first thing you should do in the morning is drink a glass of water. I'm going to try getting started earlier tomorrow morning on the water and see if I can another glass in.

I think Monday's challenge should be to see just how many glasses of water we can drink. Report it in your food but also report it here. If you haven't read the SP article about how important water is to dieting then I suggest you do. It's a great article.

O.k. you were reading my mind...lol I washed my brushes out, and was getting ready to clean my makeup drawer out....lol I had to take my daughter shopping today ( money burning a hole in her pocket....lol) But it was a blessing in disquise. We went to walmart, and there I found a great comforter for my son for only $13.Then I turned down the next isle, and there were bath towels the large one for $3 each!!!!! He will need those also. He gets his associates this summer, and is heading to OSU to finish his degree.... So I was grabbing and filling the cart....lol I actually saved quite a bit.
The water goal is a hard one for me... I am trying, I just need to put a little lemon juice or something in it, just a little to give it flavor.

Yesterdays shopping trip went great. Saved some money and had a great time. On to todays challenge, go through your makeup and get rid of anything that is old. Get it all organized and clean those brushes and reuseable puffs. Clean your toothbrushes too in some hydrogen peroxide. My dentist has me do this to ours once a week. You'll extend their life, keep yourself and others in the house healthier and save money! Have a great one.

Good for you having the day off and enjoying it!! I hear you on spring. It's been in the high 20's the past few mornings and then warming up to 50 something during the day. But with a pretty strong wind. It had been all the way up to 70 during the day and my poor outside plants don't know whether to come alive or stay dormant!! Today is going to be my me day. I have some shopping for work to do and some shopping for me to do. I need some small storage containers for some things around the house. So I'm going to hit Dollar Tree, Big Lots, Tuesdays and Hobbie Lobby up in Tuscaloosa but have a 1 1/2 hour drive to get there. ARGH. Oh well, I'll turn up the tunes and do some singing! No one will be able to hear me so it will be fun. Have a great weekend.

Well how did everyone do on the water challenge??? Come on, inquiring minds want to know. I managed to get in 9 glasses and then spent most of the rest of time running to the potty!!!! LOL. I did get some exercises in and some walking so all in all I was pretty happy with yesterday. Plus, DH had a lunch meeting at work so I took my lunch to work with me instead of eating at the cafeteria so I saved the 3 or 4 dollars there. For today, lets keep up with the water and I challenge you to try a new exercise that you haven't tried before. Report back here what your new exercise was and were you successful in doing all the reps. Don't pick one that is too hard for you. I don't want anyone to get hurt!! Have a great hump day!!

This is one I can win today! Hubby is on clear liquids and water today due to surgery tomorrow. Out of empathy for him, I'll drink extra water today and limit the food. I've already had my first big glassful.

Great Challenge Cindy! I'm like a camel. I never seem to get in the required amt. and don't seem to look for it! What I recently tried, and it seems to work for me is, I've been drinking some plain seltzer. Or, to jazz it up a bit, I've been adding (and measuring it out) 2 Tbl of 100% fruit juice (which only comes to about 15 calories per 16 oz of seltzer)And surprisingly, I've been able to get my water intake from 4 glasses a day (struggling) to 6 or 7 easily.

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and found some time yesterday to visit someone's spark page and leave them a comment. I had a great weekend and have just realized that lately I'm not getting in as much water as I need to. So today's daily challenge is to see how much water we drink. I'm going to aim for my 8 glasses but I'll be even happier if I can get to 10. Anyone up for the challenge?

Great idea! I'm going to be nice to myself today and get a manicure and a haircut. Although I may not buy anything, I'm going to check out a new dress shop to see what they carry for church clothes. I have a 'need to know' about the prices, etc. for future reference.

Nice - I started wearing a pedometer at the beginning of the month and I'm addicted to adding steps! Yesterday I got over 20,000!

So I slept in a little later today and didn't get to get on line before needing to go get ready for work. Therefore I didn't get any challenge posted for today. So here's a challenge for Thursday. Let's see if we can all work in some extra steps in our daily routines. It could be parking a little further from the store or taking the steps instead of the elevator or in my case, walking from one college building to the other (halfway across campus)! All those little bits of exercise add up over time and help us to slim down. Some of them even save us gas!! (meaning me! LOL)

Actually cauliflower and broccoli (the flowerettes only) he can have and he loves those. I do other vegetables for my 77 yr old mother who lives with, our 18 yr old son and myself. Like green beans, corn, peas, etc. Sometimes I just get lazy tho and leave them out. I've tried using applesauce in baking and that one made it by everyone and they raved about how good the cake was. I'll have to try some of the other ones.

Today I managed to have an orange with lunch because I could eat it on the run. I had a Dr.'s appt an hour away and then had to zoom back to work. I knew that I would miss lunch at the school so I stopped and picked up the orange and some chicken fingers. Not the healthiest lunch but sometimes we have to do the best we can. Tonight we're having chicken tenders cooked in bbq sauce with cut up pineapple added. Served on rice (I'm sneaking in brown rice on them! They don't really care for it. So I make it for me while they have white rice, but I mix the white with brown and tell them I made too much brown and don't want to waste it!! LOL). Then I think I'll fix some peas too. DS loves those.

Oh that Ulcerative Colitis is tough stuff. My ex had that. What if you mashed or pureed some veggies into recipes. It's not as good especially if you really want the texture, but at least your DH can get the nutrients from them. Like the recipe book that Jerry Seinfeld's wife wrote to sneak in veggies for children. Examples: mix in some chopped up, or pureed spinach into a meatloaf. When making mac & Cheese, puree some cauliflower ans mix it in, etc.

Veggies and fruits USED to not be a problem for me either. Notice the USEd TO in that sentance. My DH has Ulcerative collitis and Chrons. He can't eat hardly any fruits or veggies any more. I felt so QUILTY eating things in front of him that I knew he couldn't eat, well he could but they would make him TERRIBLY ill, so I quite eating most of them too. I just have to wonder how many people are out there that don't eat ANY fruits or veggies or very few in a weeks time? So I thought I'd start off with 2 today. You can do 2 of each or 2 of one. It's not gardening season so most all of the fresh stuff is more expensive at the grocery stores right now too. I'm just trying to get everyone to be aware of what they eat, make as healthy a choice as you can make for the food that you eat. I applaud those that do but not everyone does. With the economy the way it is, people being laid off, etc. food and meal choices for some are going to get more and more difficult. If you get food from Angel Ministries or a church, you take what you get. So I think we have to all make a conscious effort and be encouraging to everyone around us.

Vegetables are no problem for me either BUT most days the only fruit I eat are the few cranberries in my morning muffin. Today I will eat 2 extra fruits! Thanks for the little push Cindy.

Vegetables aren't usually a problem for me but fruit is. I had three this morning though; a homemade muffin with banana, orange and blueberries in it. Hmmm; fruit salad for lunch maybe!?

Five is the desired amount, but many people don't..and some don't do any. So my guess is she's trying to encourage those to start small and build up. I know there are lots of days when I don't, so I will be more conscientious about it this week.

Two? Aren't we supposed to get in 5 or 9/day (combined)? To try to fit in only two would not be much of a challenge, no? (Just putting it out there - not trying to be difficult.)

Sometimes we forget about us because we get so caught up in other things such as family, friends, work, church, etc. So here, I'm going to put a little challenge for everyone, every day. Sometimes they'll be exercises, sometimes eating, sometimes something special for us. So here goes the first one.

Today let's all get our 2 fruits or veggies for the day. If you get 2 of each, even better for you! I'm off now to go through the fridge and see what I have for fruits or veggies to start the day off!
