Awesome Tammy! Doesn't it feel good to have control back in your life?

I haven't stepped on the scale in a while because I was really discouraged after my 155. As of this morning, 150.4! So I'll just round up to 151 making it a 4lb loss :-D

I am so excited to report that I've lost a pound, putting me under the 155 mark on my scale!

My summer goal was to be 153 by Aug 5th, which is my hubby's bday. I actually weighed 153 this morning, the day after! I only adjusted my ticker to 154 though, in case it was a fluke!

I've been following my program pretty well, so all in all I've lost about a pound a week. I'm feeling in control and motivated to keep going.

I need to stop celebrating my birthday already :-) My mom and I got together the weekend before it, then there was my actual birthday, then this past weekend my husband's family and I celebrated, and now this weekend my friends and I are getting together. I've been stressed with house hunting, loans, etc. but have managed to keep exercising and counting calories, so I've maintained. Its fine, I don't have money to buy smaller clothes right now as I am in those I wore in college, so I'm out of small clothes. :)

That's pretty much the same as me, Tammy.

I was trying to make my goal in time for my best friend's wedding on June 13th. And when I got to 138, I was like, "eh, I'm almost there and she's stressing me out about her wedding. I can let a few things slide." Then around the time of her wedding I was to 145. Again, no big deal, only a 7lb gain. But then after the wedding, since I had done so well on not really gaining and looking at myself at 145lb wasn't necessarily a bad thing from the 205lb I had come from, I got REALLY relaxed and in about a month's time, I've put on an additional 10lbs (OMG!) And now all my pants that were getting too big on me are getting a little snug and the few pairs of new pants I had bought don't fit.

So I'm making some slow changes. I'm making sure I'm getting my water (never really a problem as it's all I drink), and aiming for 15min of exercise a day. This week, I'm trying to start tracking my food again. Not necessarily trying to stay in range, just tracking to identify my problem areas. I just have to admit that I'm having trouble feeling that burning desire to get in shape that I had a year ago.

Heather, I just read your most recent post here. I think I felt complacent, too, which is how I gained back up to 160. Squeezing exercise out of my life really hurt, too. It's been a challenge to fit it back in.

I was originally 215, so gaining from 140 to 150 to 160 didn't seem THAT bad, until I had to buy a pair of pants a size larger than all the rest, and it's my only comfy pair...that was pretty motivating! Just with 5 pounds down, tho, all my pants are fitting again, and I'm feeling strong about sticking with my spark goals and making more progress.

I hit 138 in April and I think I got too comfortable since there was only 3 more pounds for me to make my goal. Now I'm back up to 155 *grumbles* It wasn't too bad until I totally stopped exercising. So they aren't kidding when they say this is a lifestyle change! But I'm back on the wagon and exercising. I'm going to start tracking food again this week.

Ouch, Jenny! I'm sure that your hip, calf, and groin were from having to walk differently b/c of the knee injury. Don't push any additional exercise, just do as needed. Injuries aren't something to take likely.

hi i have been mostly off line over the past week as i have had a major flare up with my knee. Last Thursday it was very stiff and sore and i could not straighten my leg so i hobbled to work it did not improve all day or friday or Saturday. started to improve on Sunday, but by then my hip and calf and groin muscles were tight and sore as well. i am still walking with a limp but it is finally getting better, for now.

Aww, thanks Tammy! I didn't mind taking over the team with Toby b/c of exactly what you said. This is such a great team and I hated seeing it slow down especially when it's so needed right now.

And don't worry about measuring. Whatever you want to track and contribute is fine. That's why I didn't make too many rules with this one. Just something that can be as flexible as people need during the busy Summer months, but still reminds us of our goals.

Jenny, I hope you guys get your picnic going. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. If there's enough of you, maybe you guys could split into two committees; one for food and one for sports/games?

I went to the market today and it is just sickeningly hot (literally, I was nauseated)! I'm in FL and our highs are getting into the low 90's and the UV index has been high. And I burn easily, so I try to wear long-sleeved shirts at the market, which means I'm even hotter than everyone else. C'mon September or October!

i shall continue with the bootcamp programe when i can.

the UK spark team is trying to organise a picnic meet some where in the middle of the country during July. but we seem to have a lack of members living in the middle of the country who know of somewhere suitable to meet!

First, Heather, thanks for your time in being our leader. I've been out of sight for about a year, and am just getting back on my spark program. I get weird with challenges and usually end up bombing, but this one seems less overwhelming - thanks! This is the best team of people I've seen. Everyone is very nice and uplifting.

I recommitted myself to my health goals at the start of summer break. They are:

(1) to track my calories and stay in range every day, and
(2) to exercise at least 30 minutes every day.

For the first week of following my goals, I have lost 3.5 pounds to add to our team total. I hope it's okay, but I'm not measuring.

Can I add that I weighed in yesterday and I lost 4 pounds, and a half inch off my waist?

I was so unexpecting this! I was fearing I didn't lose anything since I started going back to Curves in April.

Who have you encouraged today?

We're all going to be busy this Summer, so I didn't want to inundate everyone with lots of things to track. Besides, Summer is all about having fun, cook-outs, and running around.

This thread is for anyone who wants to join in on the fun and may be in need of some support! So we're going to try and lose as many pounds this Summer as we can. Any time you weigh yourself and have a loss, post it. If you gain back what you lost, don't worry about changing the amount - this is all about successes!

We'll start tracking now and finish on Sept 1st.
