Sherry, I read your post and thought it was 3 lbs since you lost .5 lbs and a .5 lbs in a previous week resulting in a point total of 31 points.

If I were mistaken and it was a 1 inch instead that wouldn't matter in the calculations because we had already won the bonus for inches and lost the bonus for lbs.

The 31 points was the key.

We averaged 1lb loss per person, so we get the bonus for that.

You guys lost more inches per person (our average was 1.3"), so you get the 3 pts for that.

sherry: fractions of the same area (like all the thigh fractions) add togather from week to week. Fractions from different areas can't be added together (like you can't add .5 inches off thighs with .5 inches off waist to get a point).

you get to carry fractions over to future weeks.

Thus I think you are at 31 points.

Waist: 44.5 -down .5(I don't think it counts,but I lost .5 2 weeks ago,then a whole pound last week.If I can add it together with the other loss it would be 1 inch)

Omgosh i was thinking it was weigh in day.. I have one more day! yeah.. its good cause Ive worked the past 3 nights and its been busy busy at work.. I know I carry water weight when ive been on my feet a lot.. so today wouldn't be a good day to weigh. We got bikes this weekend and man i didn't realize how sore your butt feels when you first start riding. My knees are sore i was worried about that. Im just going a little distance at a time until I can get used to it. So plan is my long walk in the morning and my short bike ride in the evening when Im off. when im working ill pick and chose. depending on time limitations and sleepinig schedule. It always varies and usually isn't enough. Which is why Im totally exhausted on wedensdays.

No problem,

The question arose before the challenge started and was answered in the mothers day challenge thread, if the farmers market isn't open yet, you can shop at a local store as a substitute.

It at least makes you feel better, you can be assured that the money you spent is lining a local's pockets instead of being shipped off to a chinese sweatshop foreman's pockets or any of the Walton family through stock dividends.

So today's financial goal is to shop locally.

Week 5 Financial Goal: shop at either a farm, a farm stand or a farmer's market to support local farmers. They would probably be open in just about all states by this time of year. Alaska might have issues, but otherwise we should be good

So go get some local produce and score a couple points.

We are in the home stretch.

A couple notes:

shudufour has missed 2 postings in a row, so if she posts she counts towards our team, if she doesn't she doesn't hurt us on participation. So relax and post if you wish.

Totals for the firs 4 weeks:

Pirates: 23.0+23.5+24.25+23.625= 94.375
Snotties: 23.2+22.2+22.7+24.5= 92.6

So currently the pirates are winning the challenge by 1.775 points.

If we win this week or at least don't lose the week by more than 1.775 points we win the whole challenge and we can goad heather to give us a yacht.

So we can concentrate on getting the most points this week, lose a few inches, and lose some pounds, we score some serious booty for Mother's Day.

Okay so now my 100 mile Ironman bike ride is done with I clocked in 390 minutes of exercise yesterday in the rain and snow while wearing a piratey eye patch.

So I can get back to losing weight, no more gorging on carbs to refill muscle glycogen stores, I can lose weight and get another win.

If we win a third week we will be in very good shape to win the whole challenge. The final win is based on a total of each week's average points, since the week the snotties won, they won by only a fraction of a point, I think we are still ahead by about 2 points. If we win a third week and keep it close on the last week we could win the whole challenge.

So go be a pirate.

Participation: 9

We had earned the bonus 3 points for weight and the bonus 3 points for inches so our total is 194.

The average is thus 194/8 = 24.25

I think that means we won this week also.

wow, I got that post in with 3 minutes to spare.

I have been a bit busy. I have been training for the bike ride, and my boss told me I had to evaluate some new tech stuff for use in the dorms this summer.

So I have been working overtime at nights evaluating technology for entertainment in the dorms. It is a really tiring assignment, I have been spending the last few nights working 3-4 hours with my daughters testing a Ninetendo Wii.

Waist: 33 (.5 carryover)

This Week's Measurements:
Weight: 136
Neck: 13
Waist: 31.5
Hips: 40
Thigh: 22

Water: 4 days (I was sick Mon, Tue, & Wed, so I drank Powerade and water to rehydrate myself.)

Exercise: 210 minutes in 3 days.

Financial: Monday I went nowhere and spent nothing, and my husband didn't spend anything either, so it was a successful "Spend Nothing Day".

If I count correctly, my total points are: 21!

I'm with you Lisa.I think in her heart of hearts she wants to be a pirate.She certainly is obsessed with us.

Could it be that she thinks sabotage is the only way her SNOTTIES will ever be able to beat us? I think the answer is yes...But then again she did find a new workout for us to do to get us farther ahead of the game.I think she just left it on the SNOTTIES' page because she doesn't want to look like a traitor to them.She knew we'd look to see what they are up to,and find it there.

I think she really loves us !

Plan what you will do with your rebate/stimulus check, or do something wise with it, if you receive it by then. Tax rebate- if you get a tax return, use that instead, if you get neither score yourself credit for this, since you stick it to the IRS.
