I'm proud of myself today because going to the store hungry is a big no no, but I did, and was craving (and I was physically hungry) for something gross, or mint chocolate cookies... and instead I bought something healthy instead. yay!

I ditched the XL scrub pants. Larges fit me nicely. My new goal is to wear mediums (scrubs run big for those who don't know, and ours are pure draw string, no elastic).

I finished my week of strength training today, 3 week streak so far. I did an extra 30 minutes of cardio for the week because my night off is boring and i need something to do besides graze and read and do laundry. Had a bad sodium day, but being good again tomorrow will fix that.

I finished week 3 of Couch 2 5k. Running for 3 minutes seemed so scary at the beginning, but I did an extra minute on my last run at the end of the week. Wooo HOOO!

Eye is getting there but not totally better yet. Finished Day 2 of Week 3 couch to 5k. Two 3 minute runs, the first one was easier but the second one was still LONG, the two minute and a half runs were pretty easy.

I conquered about a hundred feet of ladders and 5ish flights of stairs (up stairs, to get back to the exit level from the ladders) on Saturday night, then Sunday I conquered week 3 day 1 of Couch 2 5k, which is two sets of 3 minute runs (the longest I have done yet) and two sets of 1.5 minute runs (not in that order). Still fighting a cold, but seem to be winning, then last night I developed pink eye thanks to a coworker. So I am off work tonight because I am contagious until it begins to heal.

hubby struggles with his exercise and eating when he is on 12 hours shifts too. it's been 14 years since i have worked shift work but i remember it doing a number on my diet.

Today I finished my Strenght training for the 3rd time this week. I am starting a streak of doing my ST 3x per week.

I am trying to get momentum going so that when we start our 12 hour work schedule next weekend I can still get up exercise and take good food to work with me. The first time I did really well with spark was in the middle of one of these 72 hours a week cycles at work so I know I can do it. It may sound weird but exercise is actually easier on night shift, because I get up work out, and head off to work.

i refinanced my house all by myself yesterday. dropped my interest in half and knocked 9 years off my mortgage too! all without my husbands help since i have been bugging him for a while to make the call...all i needed was his signature!

Couch to 5k is a program for people who don't run or can't run very far to ease into a 5k distance or about 30 minutes of jogging by doing run/walk intervals. The first week you jog 60 seconda and walk 90. The full program is at

Didn't crash, Finished day one of Couch 2 5k on Sunday, got my ST done monday, and going to do day two when I get up.

Also got awsome turkey bacon and rosemary bread for some BLTs. I really need to make my whole wheat rosemary bread and put it in the recipe calculator.
