Youíve got to stick with it. Change doesnít happen overnightónot meaningful, lasting change. Practice regularly, whether itís leg raises or gratitude exercises or positive affirmations. Make it part of your daily routine if possible.
You need patience (goes hand in hand with the persistence mentioned above). Itís seldom a straight shot to your goal. Youíll have setbacks and hit plateaus. But youíll also have breakthroughs and make great leaps forward. If you feel stuck, donít lose hope.
I just registered this morning. May have 2 or 3 others very close to taking the plunge and a couple more "if's." That's a hard weekend for ppl to commit to activities! But I'm in either way! And I'll be doing the 5k, so I may try to jog some or all of it. Something I'll be working on for the next few weeks anyway!
We'll be near downtown, a fun meetup after would be great! I think the race starts at 10 so earlier than that, that would be a breakfast run but I'm game either way!
I did the Hot Buttered Run last year and it was fun! I think Kashmir was also there, and our friend Kate and a few other runner ladies. I should sign up for it, so I have some motivation to get back out on the road again.
Some friends and I are talking about doing the Hot Buttered Run in Vancouver next month. It's a 5 or 12k downtown Vancouver held on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We will probably do the 5k and walk it, but I'm down for the 12k if any of my friends decide they want to do that.
We're also talking about doing the Shamrock Run next March. That one will be a blast if the weather half way cooperates!
