Jamelle,
I had the sleeve on Dec 7th. The nausea and vomiting does not sound normal. Have you spoken with your surgeons office?

I had the gastric sleeve on the 12/17. I'm struggling with nausea and vomiting, along with getting in the fluids.

Great support
Janelle

Got home on Friday. The biggest pain thing was getting in and out of bed. It has since diminished a bit and is not as sore with the getting in and out of bed. I take only Tylenol.

The daily challenge is to get those fluids in along with a protein shake. Got to find one that is not as sweet.

Today is treadmill day-hubby and I are going down to our buildings fitness center to use the treadmills.

One more thing. The hospital had my pain managed so well I was a little surprised at the pain level at home. So take preventive or premptive steps at home.

Carol,
I bought liquid acetaminophen at Walmart. It was their equate brand with no sugar. It helped a lot. The children's cherry was yucky and had sugar.

Also, I used the OxyCodone. It was a tiny pill I could swallow. Mine did not include the Tylenol. I am 9 days out and do not need either at this point. So for those few day of managing pain I would recommend it. In the beginning I was in PAIN and I couldn't see how the 30 pills he gave me would last but every day was less pain. Two pills left me quite out there then I went to one pill and ended up just taking one at night. My family had to intervene once and recommend I take the pain pill. I was trying not to need it. Just medicate to your pain level and have your family watch you for guidance. Also, I moved to acetaminophen tablet instead of the liquid. I use my pill cutter and could swallow the pieces.

As Cindy-K would say always check with your bariatric team for approval.

The pain med the surgeon had me get before surgery to make sure I had at home is Oxycodone. But, I don't know-I am a little leary of it. Trying to get ahold of liquid tylenol-seems to be hard to get in liquid form. Liquid works faster.

Carol,
I will be thinking of you on Monday. I did a lot of walking the halls. Before I left they took me off of fall risks and the nurses in the next unit knew me. When you get home don't be stingy with the pain meds.
Wishing you well.
Cindy.

Thank you. I have to pick up SF Gatorade/or equiv as it has plenty of electrolytes which will be a big help for the first few weeks.
