WooHoo! 6 pounds GONE! Good for you!

Have SO fallen off the wagon!
But it's not how many times we fall down, it's how many times we get back up!

This week is completely off schedule, but my goal is to dust off my book and start again with Week One, Day One on Monday.

Didn't check in yesterday, but down 1 lb so 6 lbs in all! Wow it sure is an effort to make just a small nudge!
Still working ridiculous hours! Don't really see an end in sight so that is discouraging!

Fell off the 8 min wagon the last few weeks.
It's not how many times we fall down...as long as the number of times we get back up exceeds it by 1!

Well this week was not good. Totally out of my routine all around. The trip was good but exhausting on top of trying to be present for the conference but concerned about issues back at the job. With computers and cell phones we are constantly connected!

This week will be better.

So yes plateaud this week but that is okay....will just continue on and see how next week will be.
Am in DC at a conference so I did not bring my weights but packed a resistant band and will use that for some of the exercises. There is a gym in the hotel but I have never been good about exploring this option when traveling.

Started back up with Week 1/Day 1 this week. I was not consistent. One day I only did one of the exercises, another day would have been too much on my tail bone so I skipped it. My back/tailbone are getting better, but when I move or turn a certain way and change positions I still see stars sometimes. I'm not going to beat myself up about not doing my 8 min perfectly (as I would have in the past), rather will pat myself on the back for trying to ease back into it and do what I can. The 'all or nothing' attitude has to go!

Taking time off during my injury, and re-starting, I'm losing track of rounds. I'm going to post a little more simplistically. I just looked back in my book and will go by where I started last August (2012):

This week: Down 1.2
Since starting 8 Min last summer: Down 27.8

Perfection? No. Progress, Yes!!! I'll take it!

Way to go! 5 lbs in 4 weeks is a great accomplishment and healthy rate of loss. Good for you for finishing the 28 days!

Though still having trouble with my back/tailbone, I started back at week 1, day 1 this morning. Hoping for some better results this week on the scale than last.

Down 1 lb so 5 lbs total.

Did not do well with water intake last week so will put that on the priority list again this week.
Guess now I start with round 2 and back to week 1. Some of the moves are not for me so substitute another one. Progress NOT Perfection!

Weekly update...epic fail. (haha)

Due to my fall I only completed day 1 and day 2. Day two was when I fell. I can't do much of anything still - so I'm going to take next week off and hope that by giving myself that time, my back and tailbone will heal. Given the inconsistency of the last two weeks, I'll start again on the 11th back at week 1.

I did ok, I didn't gain, but I didn't do any exercise. Every waking moment was with Noah. (My visiting student). He had an emergency appendectomy. So once he got out of the hospital, he felt better, just sore. Needed lots of entertaining.

Ooh...that must have been bittersweet. What lies ahead?

As for 8 Min, well...I'm off the wagon as well. I did not do it this morning. The whole family is home this week and I'm way off my routine. I've decided rather than fight it, I'm going to enjoy the relaxing week off, sleep in when I can, and next Monday, (the 31st) start back at week 1, day 1 for round 6.

Another 4 week cycle - Round 5 done today (tomorrow's rest day, so I'll post results now)

Here are my results for this cycle.

Round 5
Down a whopping -1.4 lbs
Total loss since starting 8 MitM - 21.8 lbs

Given exercise (jogging/walking) has been cut way down and I had my Thanksgiving gain in there, I suppose I'm satisfied that I've netted a loss for this cycle. Starting Round 6 on Monday!

Well, I detoured a great deal the last 5 days. But I'm getting myself on track. I am headed home in about 5 min to do at least 2 George's and an hour on the Wii. Then to eat a very low cal dinner (I'm already over, but I won't miss a meal....not that that would hurt me, just make me MEAN) And I can't be mean, I"ve got a school full of dentists. Yes Dentists. They are here to provide services to the village, but not me, I'm the wrong color. (While they are not supposed to, they would see me if I broke a tooth or something.) Oh well, George is calling me, have a great week.

Good for you! That's AWESOME!

I did better this week - lost 2 of the 2.4 I gained over Thanksgiving. Hoping the .4 will be gone with this week's weigh in. Then I'll fee like I'm making forward progress again.

Things are getting so nuts this week - I'm reaching survival mode...but don't want to let that derail me. Not able to spend as much time on spark, but still trying to make good choices. Just got in from a 3 mile walk in the dark with my neighbor. Felt good to walk off some of the frazzles!

Total loss this round 3.8.

That's 3.8 less than I was 4 weeks ago, I'll take it!
Though the rate of loss has slowed down, it's still forward progress and I'm good with that!

Will start another cycle on Monday. As for today, enjoying my day off!

Maintain! (Exactly!)

A family gathering last Sat, out of control eating continuing to Sun., a hurricane to stop my outdoor exercise (no cardio this week), eating Halloween candy like it's going out of style - all amounts to a bad, bad week this week! But I did get my 8 min in every day, so there's the silver lining, I suppose! I'm grateful for the maintain and that I didn't gain (I truly deserved a gain!) I just hope getting back on track NOW will prevent any negative consequences from last week's actions from showing up.

Well, I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a little disappointed, especially in comparison to the Round 2 results, but at least it's heading in the right direction. I've been on this journey long enough to know that there will be some weeks that are better than others - even some months that are better than others - and the KEY to it all, is to not succumb to negative self-talk - instead, keep pushing forward! I do wonder if I may need to 'up' my ST and should consider that gym membership after all. It's still in the back of my mind. I'm not quite ready for it yet, but I'm thinkin if progress continues to slow for the next round. I might want to consider it more seriously.

Oh gosh, nothing formal anymore. Years ago I did use the food tracker and that was helpful, but to be honest - it is time consuming to get it all set up and I just don't have that kind of time these days. Maybe next summer, when school is out again, I'll give it a try again.

I've done weight watchers, jenny craig, read a few books - and honestly have become a creature of habit and eat pretty much the same thing most every day. Saturday evenings are my 'cheat nights' and we go out to dinner. I'll usually order some kind of salad with grilled chicken and dressing on the side.

Here it is in a nutshell

Breakfast:
Special K protein meal bar

Snack:
Dannon Light and Fit yogurt

Lunch:
Alternate between three things-
1. Roast beef sandwich - Hillshire Farm 95% fat free roast beef with one slice of cheese on light wheat bread - dry
or
2. Turkey sandwich - (same brand of turkey and made the same way)
Along with this I'll have two servings of fruit - be it a banana, or a Del Monte fruit cup (the kind found in the refrigerator section - fruit in its own juice, not sugar water)

OR
3. A hard boiled egg, a low fat cheese stick, and about 25 small oyster crackers AND the fruit

Late afternoon:
10-12 almonds and carrot sticks

In the door from school:
Another yogurt

Dinner:
Some kind of diet/lean cuisine frozen dinner - or - a very, very small portion of whatever I'm making the rest of the family along with an entire bag (4 servings) of the steam-in-the bag veggies (cauliflower and broccoli) that I'll mix in with my dinner

Evening snack:
Skinny cow ice cream sandwich

Honestly, not sure if this is great - but it's working for me. What truly makes the difference for me, I think in my case, is the exercise. I've been walking, then pushed it to jogging, and that is what gets the scale moving. I hit a bit of a plateau this past summer and that's when I added the basic strength training of the 8 min in the morning program - which got the scale moving again.

Edit* - oh yes, and I do indulge in a Dunkin Donuts coffee at least once a day on my way to school! (Dark with one sugar. (o: ) Some days I need one on the way out! lol!

Edit again* AND I really try to drink plenty of water. I like to buy the flavored 1 liter bottles of selzer water and try to drink 2 of them a day!

Total loss in Round 3: 2.4 lbs

Weight loss for this round is going much slower, but it's still heading in the right direction. I'm trying not to become impatient and am doing MUCH better with this slower progress than I would have six months ago. My mindset is changing and I'm really becoming much more positive!

(But I'm still going to hope for a bigger loss next week! (o; )

Whatever is going to work best for you! For me, I really like the idea of starting on Monday (as is suggested in the version of the book I have) and having Sundays off. I like to be a little lazy on Sunday morning. (o: But I suppose it doesn't really matter, it's all about finding a way that works for you.
