Beware of even diet sodas because of the aspertame, which also most chewing gums have. Aspartame is bad.

every one in my family keeps telling me how bad soda is for me, including diet coke. I have cut back tremendously. I used to have one or two a day, and now maybe one a week. I save money and don't need to worry about the effect it has on my body.

I don't drink soda often anymore, but occasionally have a diet soda.

Many school have already replaced soda with healthier drinks. Also, many things can be used for fundraisers, but they are usually sugary things. A high school in my area does a fundraiser selling a sheet of discounts from many of the businesses & restaurants in the area.

There are warnings on many foods, so I don't have a problem with that. People who really want to heed the warning will, others will not. But, I don't like the government infringing on everything we do. Where are the "parents" ???? Shouldn't parents take a more active interest in what there kids are eating ??? Has the word "No" left our vocabulary ???

As adults, we are old enough to make our own decisions !!! YOU are the one that has to make the decision to lose weight & get healthy. If you do, you will probably look for sites like SP.

If you haven't failed, you haven't lived !

Soda Drinkers Beware!

Studies now correlate an increase in certain health risks with soda consumption. For four years researchers tracked the soda drinking habits of 50,000 women. When women went from drinking one regular soda drink a week to at least one a day, they gained an average of 10 pounds over the 4-year period. An increase in body weight was also seen when using fruit drinks, but not when diet soft drinks where consumed. In another study of 90,000 women, those who drank soda or fruit drinks daily had about twice the risk of developing diabetes compared to those who drank soda less than once a month.

Currently, the federal government is considering its first-ever warning that soft drinks can cause unhealthy weight gain. While soda sales have nearly doubled during the past 20 years, so has the percentage of obesity. Battle lines are being drawn and the debate is heating up.
Should a warning be issued concerning weight gain and soda consumption?
Should there be a ban on soda commercials during childrens television programs?
Should soda be eliminated at school? Currently the sale of soda helps fund many school activities.

There is strong evidence linking the consumption of soda and fruit drinks to obesity. An occasional soft drink presents no problem, but one or more a day could be disastrous to your diet plan.
