So...to update my status, my newest running mate has been doing really well! She has dance class on the opposite days we run, which gives her a balanced training routine and her running keeps on improving.

I'm pretty excited to see her continue to improve and finish the race in a few weeks!

So excited! The 13 year old girl that lives next to me went for a run with us and did great! She's so excited that I signed her up for a 5K in November-that will keep me in line!

Still at it and I'm starting to see some real results! It's been staying darker longer in the morning so I've added my light to my list of things to have ready. As my co-worker says, doyou have your miners light? emoticon

So far I've been hanging in there! Instead of putting off those early morning runs, I've been out there, even though work has been exhausting the last 2 weeks. And I'm darn proud of doing it!

Keep rocking, Sparkers!

Let's get real...we all have 'em...the hang up...the weakness...the one thing we just can't or don't want to give up despite the fact that it's detrimental to our goals. Our Achilles heel!

Whether it's giving up/modifying an old habit or routine or trying to create a new one, habits and unhealthy routines can wreak havoc on our long and short term goals-it's a bear to break the cycle! "Just this once" or I'll start tomorrow" are the ways that we justify poor decision making. We're human! It's going to happen! But to continually do so is a bad habit in itself.

I'm a procratinator...I justify it by saying I get better results under pressure. Ha! Who am I fooling!? It's always a "revelation" and relief to me when I plan ahead. That goes for professional life and planning my day. I feel so much better when I pack lunches for the week, put my running clothes out the night before...get focused!

My personal challenge is to break that cycle! Take the extra 10 minutes to plan and pack lunch. I can't tell you how many mornings I wake up at 4:30 and my brain immediately starts making excuses not to run or go to bootcamp...and sometimes I convince myself (thank goodness for an awesome running buddy who keeps me in check on Tuesdays and Thursdays). Enough! It takes the same amount of time to come up with justification as it does to Just Do It (thanks Nike!).

What's your nemesis? How are you or will you overcome it? I wanna know! I'll be thinking of you on that run at 4:30 , emoticon , hoping you're cheering me on, as I'll do for you!
