The Honey Badger is gone. He will be missed. Maybe the rest of the team will get the message that partying the week before the BCS game is not cool and will not help you into the NFL. Anybody know if he can turn pro this season, assuming he can stay clean long enough to get a contract signed?

So the Saints have finally signed Drew Brees (whew!). Will he get good protection or will he be a target because of the bounty issue?

Well, I did it. I went to a baseball game and DIDN'T get a dog and a beer. A bit like going to the movies without popcorn (I used to go to the movies just because I liked the popcorn so much!), but once I got to my seat it was okay. I ate a good dinner before going out to the park, and then I stopped at the concession stand for a bag of peanuts and two bottles of water. I wasn't hungry or thirsty, so it was easier to just relax and enjoy the game without worrying about whether or not I was going to get enough to eat. The home team lost, but it was a fun game.

Sports (at the stadium and on TV) provide some extra challenges for fitness and weight loss. How do you cope? Got any strategies to share?

NO is a sports-lovin' place. This is the place to brag about your favorite team (just so it isn't Alabama!), share your sports moments, gripe or weep about the coaches, refs, players, other fans -- and compare strategies for getting through the season without blowing your goals.

What would you re-name the Hornets? The Sinners? The Martyrs? How about Gris-Gris?

What does this fall hold for the Saints? Do you think the defense will be less aggressive now that everybody is watching close?

I still don't want to talk about LSU. I grew up sitting in the end zone at Tiger Stadium, and they have a ways to go to win back my affection!
