I like making items in my crockpot that I can use for canning. That way I can just scoop seal and go.

Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.

Make sure, if you are baking, to heat the oven and have all the ingredients at room temperature. It makes a huge difference.

I like to make a recipe the way it is written (except for items I am allergic to) for the first time, then I have a basis to make substitutions if I need to......

This may sound obvious, but I've noticed a lot of people don't read the instructions/recipe thoroughly.

It happens sometimes here on the Spark recipes, they change or delete something from the recipe and them complain that it's not right!!!!

I've learned this year more than in the past...to have everything ready before I start.
Food, pans, canners, knives etc.
Makes the process go so much more smoothly...
