Yeah for getting a medal!!! I pre-pay for all the races with my annual membership. This way, I can just show up 5 minutes before race time because I have a permanent bib/chip. I did this ins 2012 and loved it!! Of course, I am not off to a good start by skipping the first race of the year!!

Yes I did make the run along with my youngest son. It was not as cold as the temperature gauge indicated. I actually got too warm. I placed 2nd in my division, 55-59 and my son placed first in his division 25-29!

Sure hope the weather is good for the run in February. This time of year I wait until I can see the weather forecast for race day before signing up. Let me know if any of you Lubbock Sparkers will be out there in February

SWINKIE - Did you complete the WTRC race on Jan 12th? I had signed up but didn't show up! The cold weather unmotivated. LOL. I did make it out for a 3 mi run in the afternoon.

The west Texas running club is a fantastic group of folks. A few of us met today at Texas Tech to run as a group to start the New Year off right. I am by no means the fastest one of the bunch in fact I was bringing up the rear (at a 9:52 mile pace) but one of the other members stayed back with me so I wasn't running alone!

The first official club race is January 12th. Hopefully it will as nice out that day as it was this morning! Come out and join us. Yearly cost to join is only $15 and races are at a discounted price. This race is only $5 for members. emoticon emoticon

Are you a runner? Are you interested in starting to be a runner?

Jan 12, 2013 WTRC has a race that may be right for you. 10 am at Buddy Holly Park. You must sign up in advance for either the 2 miles or 5 miles. The 2 miles is a great way to get started on your running goals. It is OKAY to walk the 2 miles -- you won't be boo'd -- I promise!!!
