I do not feel I have worked out unless my t-shirt is soaking wet. I have lost as much as 3 lbs of water weight this summer when I would ride my bike to kettlebells class and then back.

Other reasons for strength training.

It maintains the core strength our body has developed to deal with our excess weight.
It will increas our BMR by adding calorie burning muscle.

I love lifting weights. I feel very strong and powerful, but I don't like the sweat...even though I know it's good for me :)

Benefits of Strength Training:

Increased muscle strength
Increased bone density
Increased lean muscle mass
Increased insulin sensitivity
Increased endurance (although not as much as aerobic exercise)
