Just joined this group. My mom is in a Rehab Center. She is only 65 and has been in and out of the hospital or Rehab for the past 9 months. She has MS and got a stage 3 bedsore which has caused so many problems. It is now 75% healed but she can't go home until it's 100% healed. She has lost so much muscle and may not be able to transfer herself once she could go home. She has lost so much weight too. My Dad can't care for her on his own due to his back problems. He can't lift her anymore after years of doing it. Please pray for her. She and my Dad aren't believers either and I've tried to talk to them. They think I'm crazy! Please pray for my mom, Dad, their salvation and me. I'm trying to get them to move to Iowa from WI if she can't transfer herself and it would mean she could go home vs. staying in a nursing home. I'd be able to help her but I can't move to WI. My husband has a good job here and it would be nutty to give it up. I'll pray for all of you too! I know so many of us are going through trials. I look forward to forming friendships with you through prayer and accountability :)

He is now going through chemo and radiation, He has to get at least 10-15 does of radiation and he might still not have the cancer taken care of and they might do surgery but that might cause him to be permanently in a wheel chair something that he does not want.

It seems that the cancer is all in his spine but the worst ones are at T-3 and T-7 and the T-7 is the one that they will start radiation tomorrow as well as chemo. He will get 10-15 treatments of the radiation and that will make him sick. Please continue to pray for him. It also seems that he is losing hope of getting well or having the cancer gone.

He informed me that there are tumors in his spine and that they might cause him to die or have organ shut down. He did not want to tell me but then while I was getting him ready for his bath he told me that and I think that if that happens he does not want to be worked on because he does not want to live like that. Please pray for him and for his salvation too.

Please pray for me and my family during this difficult holiday season. My mom passed away last night at 7 pm in the hospital. We have family members coming in from Utah, Texas, MO
, New York and Tennessee. So I am hoping and praying that they have safe Travels to Arkansas.

Also I don't know what it meant but two hours before her death, Mom had told me to get off my lazy butt and get to work losing the weight. Because she said that she wants me to live long enough to see my grand kids. I don't know if she knew at that time if she wasn't going to make it though the night or not.

My 12 year old son told me today that he feels like the kid in Grandma got ran over by a reindeer. He said that he doesn't feel like Christmas this year. He was very close to his grandmother. Even though we could not go over there much because in the later years she had turned mean with the dementia that she had. Once when we were over there she hit Robert and pulled his hair. Before the decease she was so kind and caring. I know she is in a better place where there is no pain and is having a good time with her mom and dad and family that had passed before her.

Please pray for my husband, he is still getting those lumps and is getting very discouraged. He will go for an MRI tomorrow and then they will see if the cancer came back into his spine. They don't really know what the lumps are but they say it is cancer but it is not acting like cancer since it will come and then go away in some of the places in his body.

I need to ask for prayer. Last Wednesday 10-24-12 a doctor called and told me my dad has untreatable, terminal lung cancer. I love my dad very very much he has always been the best dad that he knew how to be while living a life battling many drug and alcohol problems. Last May he was sentenced to prison (when I don't feel he should have been) and he certainly does not deserve to die there. At that time I just felt so scared that if he went to prison he would not come out and now that fear seems to be truth. I am putting all my faith and trust in God that he will bring my dad home to die with myself, my sister and his grandchildren. The prison has been so great to me I could not believe the amount of compassion from all the staff there and now they are working on getting him released early so he can come home. I know we don't get to chose the end of our time here on earth and that only God does. I am really scared for my dad I know he grew up in church but I don't know if he knows God anymore. I have a lot of things I need to ask for prayer for but I know there is power in prayer so please please please pray for my dad (his name is David) I know God can heal him but I don't know if that is what my dad needs. I pray he is given the chance to make it home to his family so I have the chance to talk with him about God and he can live out the final days of his life at home with his kids and grand kids. Thank you all so very much for your prayers.

Please pray for my husband he found three lumps on his body and he has been battling cancer since 2009 and has gone through a stem cell transplant(his own sells) and then a bone marrow transplant and now is on chemo again and they showed up while on chemo.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Please be with Gingerpawz and her son. Let them feel your presence during this difficult time of bad choices. Give her wisdom to know how to help her son get back on the right path. Find some excellent role models for the son to use. Provide friends that know you personally Lord.
Let this family feel your love and forgiveness.
Give Gingerpawz a sense of peace that she is a good mother but children also have free choice. Help this family find a Christian counselor or a pastor that can help them with this problem. You got to remember that he does have a mind of his own and he made that choice and not you.; You can point out what is going to happen if he continues down this path or have him go on that show Beyond scared straight. I think that is what the show is called. It may help him to realize that that would not be the life that he wants to go down. Praying for him and your family too.

Everyone pray for my son. A 16 year old talked my 12 year old into stealing for him. Come to find out this 16 yr old isn't the first time for him. The officer is wanting to send Robert for a mental eval, but the hospital said Robert don't qualify because he isn't bad enough. So I don't know what the next step is yet. Still waiting to hear. This situation has had me stressed out to the point that I don't feel like working out. Sorry I haven't been around much but haven't felt like talking to anyone about it. I was afraid that people would judge me by this and accuse me of not being a good mother. Hope everyone has a good evening with what ever you do.

Hi team. I have a small prayer matter: I am trying to change my work week from Sunday through Thursday to Tuesday through Saturday so that I do not work on Sunday and can stay in church longer and not rush home, and do church related activities on Sunday afternoon.

I know this blog is for the purpose of posting about eating well and exercising and related things, but today, I would just like to ask those who are willing to pray for my family. We're in the midst of a serious financial crisis. I don't have any other way to say it. We're at the absolute end of the rope and all we have to fall back on right now is our faith in the fact that God is going to provide. But, even in that, there is still fear and stress and concern knocking at the back door. I'm feeling very overwhelmed right now. It's a hard thing when you know in the very near future you won't be able feed your kids. Weight loss for me I guess. There's positives in everything right? I hate being one of those people who complains about every little thing and acts needy, so please forgive me if that's how this is coming across. All I covet is your prayers. Thanks.

Okay, I'll try to be brief! I've been "gone" from SP for probably almost 2 years now. I have only been clicking on prayer request emails, nothing much else. Which is really dumb, since I've been going through a lot that I need prayer for! But I'm back to SP, and time to get on track again.

The issues have been with my husband - he is an alcoholic/chemical addict who, for the past 2 years, has been way down. A few attempted suicides with overdoses; several drinking binges resulting in detoxes. Praise God - he's been sober for 6 months now! However, he's now consuming sugar at really high rates - increases all the time. And research shows that it's the sugar, not the alcohol, that is the real addiction. So, he's substituted one for the other.

And he's still in the trap of narcotic pain killers plus psychotropic meds - our counselor & our primary doctor agree that he's overmedicated; unfortunately, the pain dr & the psych dr just don't want to talk to any of us, so they keep giving him more.

Please pray for him to have a deep revelation of the trap Satan has him in, so that he will desire to throw off those chains. It's put such a strain on our relationship; even our 9 yr old son see what his dad is doing & we pray every day for Daddy on our way to school.

Bless the Lord I got the job!!! The people seemed very nice and since I'm relocating to take the job, they are being very flexible which is a huge blessing! Its about 160 miles (100 miles north) from where I live now.
Thanks so much for praying!
It's been a whirlwind, and I have already gone up once to look for an apartment! I am going up to look for an apartment again tomorrow. I have a possible living situation that I will also be checking out. There is a couple at the church I'm going to attend that has a lower level that they rent out as a ministry for anyone who needs it. They were suggested by one of the pastors at the church since they also attend. It would be only a temporary situation as the only cooking facility would be a microwave and its furnished which means I would need to store all of my stuff. But it does seem like a likely next step, Lord willing. Please pray for favor, wisdom and grace (and whatever else the Lord lays on your heart!) for this trip and meeting this blessed couple. I would like to request prayer for a potential job situation. I currently do writing/editing/proofreading/copywriting from home as a freelance. I work with authors, entrepreneurs, ministries, inventors, etc. to help them get their book, products or whatever completed, on their own website, to the publisher, etc.
I just applied for a full time job about 2.5 hours north of where I live. I did the initial phone interview this morning. They want me to come up to the office and do a second interview early next week. My head is spinning there is so much going on in my life right now. I want to "cooperate" with the Lord, so please pray I can hear which way to go and how He wants me to get there. If the job is offered, I need to know the Lord's will on it and on relocating after decades of living in SE Wisconsin. All things working together for my good...!

well i he 2 prayers that i would like for everyone to pray for . 1 my daughter has been told by the dr that she has a illness that cant b cured and she is going to have to take medicine for the rest of her life and b very careful when she is around other people cause if she catches a cold she will have to go to the hospital r it could kill her, we just got back together this last june after being separated for 42 years and i want her to live for a long while so that we can get closer together and she has a daughter that she hasnt seen for 18 years and they have just started talking the Wednesday b4 Thanksgiving and i want them to have time to b together. 2. i want prayers for my little dog PJ jamers cause he is blind and almost completely deaf and someone stole him in june and i hope he is being taken care of .cause i raised him on a bottle like u would a human baby cause his mother died b4 his eyes was open and brothers and sisters died not long after that.

Please pray for my husband. He's been out of work for four years, and this week he's had two interviews. He applied for a custodial position at a local hospital on Monday, and he should hear back sometime today. And then yesterday he had an interview for a quality position with a local automotive parts manufacturer. He's been in that field for a long time and is really more appropriate to his background.

He was so exited to be even interviewing again. Please pray that he gets either one of those positions. Thanks in advance.

Bless you dear heart. I will pray for you and your family. I spent hours and days in the Word of God when my beloved brother was sick and through his death. The healing process was slow and there were times I felt so hopeless. Though I miss him terribly, Christ brought me through it and gave me peace. We can do all things through him.

Hi I was reading this post and several others in the team forum. Praying for many in the spirit I found inspiration. Preparing to write a prayer request for my family in hardship I realized that God has already heard our cries. Oftentimes stresses of this life overwhelm us but I am learning that God gives us Peace. For me, like a plant has to grow and there is a process to that we have to grow. In the midst of the growth I am learning to Be Still, Water myself in God's Word and make sure that my foundation in God is secure. I just wanted to share how blessed I was by this group and how my spirit was uplifted. This morning was a somewhat depressing but I had to move myself from that and find comfort in God. Thanks

Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to the team. I don't think I've posted at all yet. But, today I am in need of prayer. Monday I'm having minor back surgery, a little anxious about that. I've had it done before and I know it is pretty painful. Please pray for God's healing touch. I also have been feeling quite ill for a couple of weeks. I'm worried that it is my heart. I have a history of heart attacks and have 4 stents. I need a healing touch from God in this matter also. My trust IS in Him but sometimes our flesh will rise up against us.

Thanks, ND Teacher 1, for those comments. I know she takes antidepressants already (maybe her dosage needs to be increased?). She wasn't around much last summer when we were dealing with Dad's rapid decline in health. That was her own choice, as she has issues with my husband about something that he did out of desperation, which he confessed to me and my parents. We've forgiven him; she can't or won't for some unknown reason. So she probably does feel some guilt. I just wish she would get counseling. I've done it a couple times thoughout my adult, and while I didn't ENJOY it, it certainly helped me.

Anyway, I'll be praying for you and your family.

Dear Go Hawkis,

Could it be that your sister is depressed, feeling guilty that she was not there caring for her parents and that you were? After my brother died, some ugly things were said to me by my sister, too, at Christmas nonetheless. My brother and I had been living with my parents because I had surgery and couldn't care for him while I was mending. My parents, in their 80's, and I got to a point where we couldn't meet his needs so he was put in an nursing home. My brother, 5 years younger, was his executor but lived in another state, so he was not on top of what was happening so his decisions were not well-thought out, and my parents, trusted him because he is good with money, BUT he did not know my ill brother like I did, I was better suited to making sound decisions but I KEPT my mouth shut to keep the peace. Long story short, my executor brother and sister somehow, somewhere formed a bond to hate me and it has been painful for me. I am astounded that when we lost a sibling they could be hateful to another/me. My brother NEVER talks to me, doesn't even come out of his bedroom when I am there. I have NO idea what I did, but I will continue to pray that God will touch their hearts and I will pray for you and your sister, too.

UPDATE ON SITUATION W/ MY SISTER: The week following the episode I posted below, my sister and her husband went to St. Louis to visit their son. We had anticipated dog sitting for them but they chose not to bring him to us. My birthday fell during the following week, and I was totally surprised that she called to wish me a happy birthday. And last Sunday they brought over dinner. Since she had to be at church early for choir practice, they came in two vehicles. Her husband left shortly after dinner, but she stayed for a couple hours. There was no apology to me and none to my mother that I'm aware of. Nothing was said regarding the episode or the aftermath. She just acted like nothing had happened.

Hi all, I need your prayers for my little family, we have been waiting upon the Lord for 3 years for the fruit of the womb. I had a feeling early last year that if I loose some weight, I will get pregnant and I have been trying since then with no results. I need an inner strength at all times to keep on. To also withstand the interference of family members on getting a baby. I feel very week in my spirit sometimes but I have an assurance that 'children are the heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward'.

I really need prayers for my family.

A little background: My father passed away in September, and my mother has Parkinson's Disease. She has a lot of pain and difficulty walking. My husband and I have been living with my parents since October 2010, helping to care for my father while he battled cancer, and now to help my mother. I have one sister, a year older than I, who is married with 4 grown children. Most Sundays she and her husband come over for dinner.

Yesterday my sister and I had a HUGE blowout about Mom. She didn't go to church yesterday morning because she was very tired and achy. She did get up and listen to our service over the radio; however, she remained in her nightgown and put her robe on when I got home from church. She didn't put slippers or socks on her feet, and my sister noticed that her toenails were getting too long again. And my sister started ragging on her about making another appointment for a pedicure.

Well, I told her to quit ragging on Mom, and my sister blew up. The "discussion" moved to the dinner table where everything got even worse--to the point where mom called her nephew who lives nearby to come over. He talked with mom for awhile and then called for our pastor and one of the church's elders to come over.

First of all, I'm totally ashamed that the folks outside the immediate family had to come and mediate. Secondly, I'm really worried about my sister. She said some really ugly things about me and my husband, and her accusations were truly hurtful. I personally think she needs professional counseling (and I hope that happens), but I'm definitely not the one to suggest it. Her behavior was truly appalling.

So I need your prayers for all of us--my mom, my husband and I, my brother-in-law, and especially my sister.
