Cottage and ricotta are considered protein (all cheese is) BUT they are kinda their own category in that you can overdo it (like the nuts)

I knew I overdid it on the cheese. Is cottage cheese considered a cheese/protein/dairy?

LOL. I love cheese too. It seems to be a big problem with a lot of dieters.

Too much cheese! Substitute out some of that cheese for dairy. We are allowed 2 cups on phase 1 and dairy is milk and/or yogurt. Cheese can stall weight loss and most folks can tolerate a couple servings while in phase 1 but not always. A serving is 1 ounce (or in case of ricotta or cottage 1/2 cup)..

The veggie patty - normally there are grains in it (if you purchased it so you might want to check the ingredients).

Sounds like you are getting in the 4 1/2 cups of veggies.

Here's what I ate on day one. I think I could've done better. What do you all thnk?

Breakfsat:

Egg Beaters omelet w/peppers
Sausage
Broc & Cheese

Snack: Cottage cheese w/cinammon

Lunch: Chicken Salad w/lofat shredded cheese
Dressing (lofat itlaian)

Snack: 1 string Cheese, 2 slices 2% cheese
Turkey slices (2 oz.)
Veggy Patty
Nuts (1 oz.)

Dinner: Lettuce
Dressing
Chicken
Beans
