How is everyone doing with the June challenge to eliminate an obstacle? I am doing better with getting to bed on time and have been able to meet my goal of getting to bed by 11 pm at least 3 days a week. I did get off-track for the past few days, but am back on track with that today.
The thing that is getting in my way the most is my lack of consistently getting a good night of sleep. When my head is fuzzy due to being too tired, the level of focus required to read and synthesize scholarly journal articles makes it impossible to finish my literature review.
Plan to Deal with Obstacle in June
I am going to commit to getting to bed on time for at least 3 days a week in June. I will begin the process of getting ready for bed at 10:30 and then aim for bedtime at 11:00 pm. This may sound like a simple task, but I have been struggling with it for years and have never been able to sustain it for more than a week or two, so this will be very difficult for me, but hopefully make a big difference.
For the Dissertation Support June Challenge, each member of this group should select their biggest obstacle to completing their dissertation. I know that all of us have multiple issues, circumstances, or barriers that may be getting in the way, but try to narrow it down to one that is causing the most trouble for you. Post here what that obstacle is and then a plan for dealing with it during this month. By the end of June, lets see what each of us has accomplished towards eliminating these obstacles, or at least reducing their negative impact.
