I was sitting alot today doing the volunteer work at the Centre. In spite of it, had a good day.
Calories 1,446, 30 minutes walking, 7,500 steps.

I'll be taking dh up to the cottage with me for 4 or 5 days starting on Monday, the 26th. Like Carol, I won't have a computer then, so will journal and count manually. The last thing I want to do is break this streak because it may be really difficult getting back on the wagon if I do.

Val, whatever works for you is fine. Posting once a week to this thread or every day is up to each of us.

Merilyn, last week I had a day just like you where I was over 2,000 calories, and wine was the culprit for me too. After a few glasses of that, it stimulated my appetite to eat more. What helped save me was the exercise I put in that day. You did well with the walking over 3+ miles which will help to balance out the calories a bit.

My day today went well exercise and calorie-wise, but my food choices weren't so great. Spent today doing some heavy cleaning as well as a 45 minute walk. Dh wanted pizza for supper. I was a little tired and didn't need much encouragement to order in. Had 2 pieces of that and not much in the line of fruit or veggies today.
Here's today's results.
1,443 calories, 120 minutes of exercise, and just made it to 10,000 steps.

Hi, there. I just wanted to let you know that I'm still tracking my food, but I think I'll just post it once on here at the end of the week. I keep it on an excel spreadsheet so that I can see more easily where I'm having problems keeping within the limits that were set for me. It really does work for me because it makes me more conscientious about my food intake.

Night, ladies...

Morning all. Not a good day yesterday. Walked 3.5 miles in 60 min, did some strength, was really good on the food until keri came over for a while last night. That darn wine put me over my limit.

Last week's results for 7 days of tracking and exercise was a tie for Carol, Dorothy and Irene in B.C. If someone else completed the challenge and I haven't mentioned your name, please let us know.

Here's to a great week for everyone. If you go over on calories, just keep tracking anyway. It's the number of days that count on this challenge. You will see what the pitfalls are which is the first step to fixing them.

I didn't loose weight last week either. I'm hoping for something this week.
Here's my results for yesterday and today:
Sunday: 1,300 calories, 100 min. exercise and 11,020 steps.
Monday: 1,163 calories, 60 min. exercise, 6,425 steps.

Morning all. So today is day one for me. Will start posting tomorrow. Good luck this week everyone and stay on track. My calorie limit is 1750 and I plan exercise a minimum of 30 minutes daily. that does not include the normal activities like yard work and housework. Must be over and above the normal things the body is used to. See you all tomorrow.

These are my final results for the week.

Sunday - 1521 calories - I cleaned my basement for 2 hours
Monday - 1357 calories - cleaned the basement - 1 hour; painted front step - 1 hour
Tuesday - 1400 calories - no fitness
Wednesday - 1990 calories - 30 minute walk
Thursday - 1841 calories - no fitness
Friday - 1730 calories - no fitness
Saturday - 1405 - no fitness

I didn't lose any weight, but then again - I didn't gain any, so that's a plus, considering I went over on my calories half the time and I didn't do much in the way of exercise. I'm going to try harder this week to be a good girl.

Thanks everyone. Here's hoping we all show, and continue to show lbs being released!

A good day today. I was in work for 4 hours, and decided to use a gym pass for a gym at a rec centre near work after work (it's too hot outside to walk), and I did so! Here's the thing - I bought this pass about 4 years ago and have used it before today exactly 2 times!!! Luckily they last forever. Anyway, it felt really good.

Irene in ON, I have to say, I LOVE the image of you dancing, and doing exercises with weights on your arms. talk about multitasking!

so, my week

Sunday: 1832 calories. No exercise
Monday: 1389 calories 30 minute walk.
Tuesday: 1690 calories 20 minute walk
Wednesday: 1410 calories. 20 minute walk
Thursday: 1250 calories. no exercise.
Friday: 1252 calories. 30 minutes exercise.

Eating right and exercising makes a huge difference and it can become clear in a very short time. When I do these things, I sleep better, I have overall less pain (fibromyalgia), my attitude is so much more positive, I feel younger, and I have more energy. Can you tell me what benefits we get from crappy eating and lazing around? None.....short term fulfillment of some foreign taste buds perhaps.....or a little bit of momentary comfort.

I don't behave all the time and I question why. Do you?

Welcome to the thread Merilyn. It's ok to start anytime. You can call this a practice run, lol.

I had a somewhat stressful day yesterday. I tracked anyway and consumed 1,474 calories. Been doing really well this week eating lots of fruit and veggies and am starting to feel a slight difference already.

My calories today were 1,328 with a 45 minute brisk walk and 15 min. of hauling a vacuum around.

Irene (ON) you asked if any of us behave all the time, heck no, not me. I wouldn't have found SP and all of you wonderful ladies so it pays to misbehave but not too often, lol emoticon

Connie and Irene, great to see you here!

I didn't add anything last night because I was on late, and I think that spark went down for maintenance. I was able to post on the main thread, and then was able to do nothing.

Anyway, I will add my tracking and exercise for yesterday. My calories are high - over my limit. I was at a birthday party last night and although I moderated what I would normally eat at such a function, that bit of cake (much smaller than I would normally eat mind you) took me over the top. Okay, so here is this week, so far:

Sunday: 1832 calories. No exercise
Monday: 1389 calories 30 minute walk.
Tuesday: 1690 calories 20 minute walk
Wednesday:
Thursday:
Friday:

Yes Connie, journaling your food counts. That's still tracking and be sure to count it in.

I had a fabulous day today with calories & exercise & pedometer--
1,334 cal./105 min. exercise/12,180 steps emoticon

Made a chicken sandwich from tonight's dinner for work tomorrow and packed carrot/celery sticks as well.

Just 3 days into this and no cravings so far.

Dorothy, I didn't realize it was tracking food. I do write everything down that I eat in a food journal but I dont' do it on here. It is just another thing that takes time and I just don't to put my time there. LOL I hope that makes sense. I will do the exercise one then unless journaling counts? If not that is ok too, no problem.

We total each week Connie for tracking food and fitness, and the winner will get an emoticon trophy. At the end of the month we will see who wins the most overall and that person will get a gold cup. I want to keep this going every month so we can see our fantastic results by the end of the year. Here's to all of us being winners whether we get a trophy or not emoticon .

I'm in, Dorothy. I just made tracking a personal goal for this week so this will give me even more incentive, and as for fitness, I'm always trying to push myself. Sounds like a fun challenge and I'm happy to join you!

I'll try to remember this thread, Dorothy. I'm terrible - I usually only go to the Chit Chat lounge and forget to check the other threads. However, I will be tracking. And, thanks for starting it! emoticon emoticon

I thought we might like to challenge one another for tracking and exercise on a weekly basis. If you went over your tracking limit that's ok. The purpose is to track consistently and soon you will be on target.

Post your results either daily or weekly. At the end of the week tally up your totals and we can see who came in first. The winner will get an emoticon trophy. At the end of the month we will see who won the most overall for the gold cup.

I'd like to keep this going month after month and see great results by the new year.

Our week starting point is in sync with Sparkpeople, Sunday to Saturday.

Want to join me?
