Stepping away from the computer and spend more time outdoors moving. Try to use the computer as a resource, rather than entertainment.

I am trying to do a "get off my butt" challange. i want to spend less time zoning out in front of my computer. there are so many small tasks that i need to do and i get lazy then allo g asudden before bed I rush to get stuff done so i dont get to bed early.

I went on vacation in mid-March and have been trying to get back in to my routine ever since. I finally started on Monday by running/walking 2.25 miles on the treadmill and on Tuesday I did some body weight exercises (lunges/pushups/squats). Wednesday I was in so much pain I almost couldn't walk! Ooops. I think I did too much too fast. emoticon

So it is Friday now and I was able to do a little yoga this morning. Thankfully I feel much better! emoticon

Here are my plans from here on out:

1. Drink more water! I have been pretty good but need to do better. Especially on the weekends when I am home. At work I always need to take a break from my desk so I go get water, but at home I get busy and forget the water.

2. Continue to exercise, but pace myself a little better. I can't stand waiting to recover to get back to it!

3. Do more yoga. I am a beginner but I think I am liking it. We'll see!

I PLAN TO BE MORE ACTIVE BY WALKING AND EXERCISING MORE AND WATCH MY LOW SODIUM FOOD INTAKE AND TRACK IT ALL EVERY DAY !

I COMPLETED MY FIRST 5K WALK ON 22 MAY 2010 IN 60 MIN. IT WAS A SWEET TASTE OF SUCCESS FOR ME (NON-CALORIC!)
I COMPLETED MY 2ND 5K WALK ON SATURDAY 20 NOVEMBER 2010 IT WAS GREAT !!! WOOHOO !!!

My Spring inter a Healthier Version of "ME" goals:

Non- Fitness Goals:

Clean my workout / craft room. It is a complete mess with stuff every where.

get more sleep ( I have been lacking in this department)

drinking more water

getting re-focused and making a re-commitment to my journey after being derailed for 2 weeks with an injury.

meditate at the beach at least 10 minutes a day.

I will definitely be hopping around Spark People spreading some Spark Joy or offering words of encouragement.

A Healthier Version of you is not just about about what the number on the scale says- because in my opinion the number on the scale does not define who you are. Creating a Healthier version of ourselves comes through in our over all health and well being.

The Spring into a healthier version of you Challenge will be in weekly increments - and run until the end of May.....

For the next 7 days I want you to focus on goals that will benefit your health and well being.

for instance: getting a good nights sleep; drinking water or tea instead of grabbing a soda; no late night snacks. Exercising is another good one to add here too.

Stop by someones spark page; or send a private message (if they do not have a page ) just to say hi; They may be having a bad day; or slipped up on their plan - your little note could make their day a little brighter.

How about setting non- fitness related goals too.
Pick 1-3 ( or more if you'd like) things that you would like to accomplish within the next 7 days.

This challenge is all about "YOU"- at the end of this week ( in our case May 1st) please stop by and post what you accomplished.

Let's make the next 7 days a positive one and remember that every day that you do something positive for yourself- it brings you one step closer to your goals...
