Gee, with that 6 lb loss last week and /2 lb this week, haven't you already made your 4 lbs for the July challenge, Mona? You're doing so well!

I weighed in today and I'm down 2 lbs so far for the July challenge. I'm hoping to get a good start on the challenge, because I'll be lucky if I can maintain while I'm on vacation!

I'm reporting in too. So close, but not quite 10 lbs.
SW: 269
CW: 260

Lost 9 lbs. YAY! Also, 260 is my goal weight for my quarterly goal on 6/20, so I made that goal.

I'm in for 4 lbs by the end of July! I think July will be an especially tough month for me because I'll be on vacation, then probably have some back-tracking to do. But maybe I'll surprise myself!

Well here it is, final day of the challenge

SW:253
CW:249

lost 4 lbs

not the 10 I hoped for but I will take it.

I am now trying for 4 lbs off by the end of July, working on 2 lbs per month being 24 lbs per year. I am not going for speed, just coming off and staying off

Are you with me gang?

Pam, just dropping by to encourage you. You are not doing anything wrong. The problem with challenges is that some where along the way, the excitement wanes and people fall by the wayside. But you are doing great and will be able to post a victory in 8 days. emoticon

Pam, you are doing a fantastic job.

I am 4 lbs down

SW:253
CW:249

but am hoping for at least another 2 lbs and have 8 days to do it in

Am enjoying the workouts and feel blah when I don't do them so that encourages me to do them..lol..and at the moment the food is going well as well

Come on all of us, only 8 more days to go let's have a final push..but don't starve, that won't work, need to eat within your range

hugs

Just checking in: I weighed in today. Down 1 lb in 3 weeks, total of 7 pounds for this challenge. Considering the horrible week I had two weeks ago and the maintenance-ish week I had a week ago, I'm THRILLED with ANY loss! (Even if my sister-in-law DID sneer at the idea of me ever losing even 50 pounds and keeping it off, on Memorial Day.) I probably won't weigh in again until the deadline of June 16.

STARTING WEIGHT 4/18/2009: 269
CURRENT WEIGHT 6/7/2009: 262

Way to go, Dore and Sue! Moving it the right direction, no matter how slowly, is what will get us to our goals. You are wonderful and inspirational!
emoticon
I've been wondering if I'm "doing it wrong again." ...There are a bunch of people in this challenge but few are posting; are most of you just silently losing weight and planning to announce your results on June 16th?

Pam, don't look back but forward. A goal is a goal. It will be great if you reach it, but other than having to reset another goal, there is not going to be a penalty if you don't. Just deal with things one day at a time.

Back on track. I am sure that I won't reach my goal since I immediately put weight on when I first set the goal. But I am now going in the right direction.

Great job Sue! You're going in the right direction. I like your new goal of 5, 2 more to go, and any more is a bonus.
emoticon
I think I shot myself in the foot by publicly declaring myself in this challenge. I haven't weighed in for two weeks, but I've been struggling and losing the battle. I weigh in this weekend. I have a feeling that I'll be doing good if I'm still down 6 lbs on June 16. My official goal date is June 20, and I need 9 lbs gone (260) to meet it. I'm still in there fighting, though.
*sigh* emoticon

Maybe that will be hard in just over 2 weeks, I will try to lose at least 5, so 2 more to go, any more will be an extra bonus

Thanks, Mona and Sue! I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot by "going public" with my goal to lose 10 lbs by June 16. The mind is such an odd, odd thing...

Go, Sue, go! You've been doing the right things for so long that maybe those stubborn 8 pounds will fall off in a whoosh! Especially if the doctor decides to give you meds for your thyroid this week..

Actually, ANY weight loss by June 16 qualifies as winning in MY book.

I'm going to confess: I've been secretly in this challenge all along. I never told anyone, because setting weight goals had been counterproductive for me recently, and I'd decided to focus on my eating and exercise behavior--things I COULD control. (Darn scale never listens to me when I yell, "Down! Down! Bad scale!")

However, focusing on eating and exercise behavior and only weighing in every 2-3 weeks is paying off (slowly)! For me, weighing in less frequently is less discouraging because the numbers on the scale go down pretty slowly and unevenly.

Sorry. Long introduction. Challenge: I'm IN.
