This sounds really good. I would like to jump in here too.
I did some shopping today & walked around the store for 45 minutes. I'm a slow walker. I have osteoarthritis in both knees. By the time I get done shopping its all I can do to bend my legs to get in my truck.

Take care...Karen

Way to go! Pam and Marcie....I am so proud of both of you.

Marcie...any time you do that much walking counts as exercise. But the beauty of the TRI is that you only do 5 minutes of each category...which is 3x5=15....once or more times a day and as often as you want.

I understand the back locking up on you...that's what mine does after 5 minutes. emoticon emoticon ...so 30 minutes is great.

Both of you ladies!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I took a client grocery shopping and walked up and down the aisles for a good 30 minutes. Walking in stores makes my back lock up after about 20 minutes so by the time we finished I was in a little pain. But I can count that as my excercise right? Hope I understand the challenge.

I did a lot of leg and back stretching and I did walking outside today. I walked 4 times, for a total of 24 minutes. Now I just need to do 5 minutes of upper body exercises unless the back exercises count for that.

Just a little info here about the "maker" of this:

Her Spark name is MISSJAQ, she is a nurse who hates to exercise...she walks for breast cancer and owns a restaurant in Myrtle Beach. She volunteered to come here last year when Robbyn May was our other co-leader, but I never took her up on it...I know she would be thrilled to find folks doing it now. emoticon

I'm in. I definitely do 2 already. I will add the cycling part. I think I can do 5 more minutes of leg lifts, etc.
What I like about this challenge is that it has a lot of choice and levels. It's good for people who haven't really been working out to get started, and it is also good for people who have been exercising. It made me take a look at what I was already doing and see what I needed to change up or add to fulfill the challenge.

Count your blessings!

I didn't do more than a minute or two of walking in place, but later on, I did go outside and walk, as I said on the chat thread, so I will count that as part of the Triathlon. I did at least 15 minutes of that, divided up into 4 sessions, and I did the upper body and lower body exercises as I stated earlier.

Well, I kinda did it. I did 5 minutes of lower body exercise, then 5 minutes of upper body exercise, but I could only do a little over a minute of walking in place.

HERE IS THE EXPLANATION FOR THE
TRIATHION

5 Minutes of swimming..
This means swinging arms, lifting arms, any kind of arms with weight, even wall push-ups (good for the pecs)

5 Minutes of Cycling
This means abs, legs..floor stuff, leg lifts

5 Minutes of running
This can be walking in place, dancing, jogging, kicking..

Copied from a post from MISSJAQ.

These exercises are best done to music.......

NOW..
YOU also can do the swimming and the running while sitting down.

The floor exercises can be done on the bed.

Use your imagination...just as long as it is 15 minutes total.
