I have not, and this is good to know! I can walk the first mile or two, run the next however-many-i-run and then walk the end. Thanks!

Kimmiep- I like the plan! It's about pushing yourself and having fun :)

Have you run WDW before? Based on when I ran it in 2009 and 2010, the beginning couple of miles are a real mess of people. Things don't really clear up until you leave the Epcot area and get on the 6 lane road heading to MK (World Drive). It's real easy to waste a lot of energy trying to navigate the masses during those first couple miles (I know...I've made that mistake). emoticon

I'm not going to worry about running the first couple of miles just because of the traffic jam. Once I hit World Drive is when I'll start worrying about time and consecutive running.

Hope my unsolicited advice helps ;)
Jim

I am using Higdon's plan as far as the time/mileage but the competitor in me just won't let me walk, even though I know it will speed up my time. My newest plan is to run the first 13-17 miles (or more) until I feel like I can't run anymore and then walk whatever is left. I am all about finishing this one, don't care about time!

I'm using a custom plan loosely based off Hal Higdon's beginner 1.

I will likely be using the Hal Higdon plan that he recommends for Goofy training - his Intermediate 2 marathon training plan. I love HH's plans, although I do use Galloway-style intervals for all of my running.

I have exercise induced asthma as well, makes running in certain conditions very difficult!

I'm relying on my old stand-by, John "the Penguin" Bingham's Marathoning for Mortals, but adding a bit of Jeff Galloway's walk-run as well.... exercise-indused asthma means I walk more than I run but this time I'm training more consistantly and adding swimming, zumba, spin and weight training into the mix to build up some core stregnth and get some of the extra weight off

I am starting his Marathon plan, the Novice 2 I think, and it starts July 3rd when I get back from vacation. The 2 Halfs I am running in the Fall will just fit in as training runs. being my first year racing, I am not sure what you should do after the half. Maybe rest a couple weeks and pick up Marathon training from there?

I'm using the Hal Higdon's Advanced 1 program, to help get ready for a HM next month. I don't have another long race on the bill yet until the WDW Marathon - any tips on what I should do after the half? I'm leaning toward finishing the Higdon schedule for a marathon, and then trying to find some way to maintain. Not sure how though.

Who knew running was so tricky.

I'm using the Hal Hal Higdon Ultimate plan this summer (my running partner hasn't been running much at all, and it starts at 1.5 miles), then switching to the First plan when school starts (it's only 3 days a week and includes speed training http://www.runnersworld.com/article/printe

I am using Hal Higdon's, plus I will be trying to incorporate yoga/pilates and weights as well. Of course, training doesn't start for awhile, I will be training for other races though!
