Sorry had to back out of this one....have a bulging disc C7 limited on what I can do until further work up physical therapy. My Doc says weight loss wont help but if you are a gal with "girls" that are large from weight that pulls your shoulders forward and definitely changes the way your posture is which can put pressure on that area....I don't see how it can't effect it...?

Hi THERESE131 - Thanks for joining the challenge! I used to get headaches a lot when I first started too. I have a couple suggestions that may or might not work. If you try these and it doesn't work, go to the message boards for nutrition and/or exercise and post your question there. The Spark Coaches frequent those boards and they would know more than I would.

1. Are you tracking your food? Could it be low protein? Try to include something with protein just before you workout to give yourself an extra kick. Also some caffeine may help as well. I am not sure how you feel about that but a tea or coffee without a lot of sugar may give you that extra boost you need to get through your workout.

2. Make sure you are not OVER training, esp in the strength area. Do your Strength first then cardio. Listen to your body and if you feel like a headache is coming than stop. get some water and if it gets worse just stop your workout for the time, go back in a couple hours if you want to or just try again the next day.

I would say if you want to exercise at all before the family reunion and other weekend function I would do something very light. A slow walk on the treadmill or outside. No running just a a walk. If you don't want to risk it that is fine too. Start again next week. The big thing is to NOT give up!

I originally did not include strength. I get exertion headaches and my weekend is full with a family reunion so I am little afraid to exercise anymore this week. I still have a slight headache from Wednesday and yes I drink plenty of fluids(water or powerade zero) before, after and during exercise. If anyone has any advice other than hydration, I would greatly appreciate it.

I did the eliptical then strength exercises this morning and I have 14 glass blocks left to clean the concrete off of this afternoon, so I'm hoping today will be at least another 3. Shooting for at least a 2 tomorrow and I'll definitely get a 4 on Sunday because I'm rebuilding the windows in the master bath...and they're not small!

Weekly Challenge June 11-June 17: Exercise Tracking
M: 3 pts (Sculpt workout DVD 50 min, 20 min walk)
T: 2pts (35 Minutes - tight and tone DVD)
W:0 pts (felt like poo decided to take a rest day)
T: 4 pts (75 minutes walking 35 minutes hight and tight dvd)
F: 1pt (Sculpt Workout started but not finished due to appointment and phone call)
S: 0 pt (worked on back porch/deck all weekend)

Ok, Doing something a little different. First I am posting several weeks in a row. one reason is to be able to get you all to think ahead and plan. The second reason is because during the summer I find it hard to get on the computer and post these every week.

Also, If you like some accountability I am setting these challenges up to be able to score and keep track of here on the team thread! Again, I am offering Team Goodies to those who participate in this part of the challenge!

I am starting to run out of ideas so if there is something you need help with or would like to see PLEASE let me know!

So here we go...

Exercise Tracking
Here's how this one works:

Points are awarded per day as follows:
* track between 0-29 minutes of exercise for 1 pt (per day)
* track between 30-59 minutes of exercise for 2 pts (per day)
* track between 60-89 minutes of exercise for 3 pts (per day)
* track 90+ minutes of exercise for 4 pts (per day)

Exercise calories can be counted in a variety of ways -- just pick one (or a combination) and stick with it. Suggestions include:
* SparkPeople's fitness tracker
* heart rate monitor/Garmin
* treadmill/elliptical/bike display
* an alternate website

For example, if you do 60 mintues on a cardio machine at the gym and you don't have a HRM, use the calories that the machine tells you. But feel free to use the external website for your non-treadmill walking and ST. Please remember that there are a lot of factors that contribute to how many calories one person burns doing any particular activity, and this is not a contest to see who can burn the most calories -- just a challenge to practice tracking our exercise calories. We earn our points for the act of tracking, not for the number of calories burned.

You ARE encouraged to take at LEAST one rest day on cardio!
