Hey, it's me, Lynda. As posted elsewhere and as my username intimates, I enjoy the sport of kendo. However, when not at my once-a-week class, I don't practice. I've found I need others to spur me on. Also, as posted elsewhere, I regularly climb and descend the steps at work. But, I need MORE - my eating is greater than my exercising. Or at least, they're canceling each other -- have not lost any weight in over a month. Running is not my thing...it's boring.
Resolution (for me): A game console, Playstation 3. Systems like Wii, X-Box and Playstation 3 all have some type of 'game' where you can move, dance, and manage weight.
Been able to make big payments on my bills and as a sort of reward to myself, I decided that this year I will get the PS3...as long as I get the exercise accessories to go with it.
I'm not much of a morning person and am Definitely a night owl. Rather than sit around on the futon all night, I can get home, start a game, and get moving.
Why am I posting this? I figure I can let you all know how it works out. I'm not out to lose pounds and pounds, but I see my couch-potato-ness as a bad habit I want to kick. Also, I have been told that I will probably test for shodan in July.
That means a black belt test. That means I will need more stamina than I have now. I need to wait a paycheck or so before I make my console and games purchase, but I will keep all you FABULOUS people posted on my progress!! If it works for me, maybe it can work for you, too!
