I just love the feeling when you hit a new number!!! For some reason, it feels way more awesome to go from 158 to 157.4 than 158.6 to 158. Although I'll take anything as long as it's moving in the right direction!

end of 10 week challenge report:

loss of 15 lbs!!!!! wow!! even though I had a bit of a jump up at the end and some wobbling during the middle of the challenge several times, I am thrilled with the results of this challenge!! I'm going to start another one tomorrow.

And hopefully I'll be able to beat my 15 lbs. If I could even match it, that would put me just 10 lbs off of my ultimate goal weight. I hope I can rekindle the motivation and just do this! But again, i guess whatever I do will be better than not having done anything.

Sooooo I have 2 days left of this challenge. What I was wondering is, once I'm done, if nobody minds, I would love to keep this thread open and take the next 10 weeks and try to break my record from this last time. I just really love seeing the progress over time, and coming to report my weight every day keeps me accountable.

This is going to be my last week for this challenge. I can't believe that it actually worked... emoticon

I didn't lose 20 pounds in 10 weeks.
I did lose 10 pounds in 9 weeks. With one more week to go I hope to add another 2 pound loss to my total.

i feel your pain. After all my exercise of the past 2 days, (and, well bunko last night) I gained .6 lb. I just need to stick to my plan and hope it starts going down again.

I'm kind of worried since we're going out of town on Thursday for the weekend. So my exercise and eating may be messed up.

I have 3 more weeks of this challenge. I have lost 13 lbs so far. I'm really happy with that result. Keeping track every day, there are some days when I go up a bit, and several where I don't go anywhere at all, but overall, the scale keeps going down. I really attribute this to tracking my food and trying to be consistent with exercise. This is the longest I've ever tracked my food in my whole life. I'm trying for 100 day streak of it, but even if I don't get there, it's still a record for me. Good job everyone on your progress! This challenge is really what got me going again.

i was really careful this weekend but I still feel like I took a step back somehow. Well, I just hope consistency pulls me through this week. The days when I'm up a bit can be kind of discouraging, but I guess I need to use that as motivation instead of as an excuse to quit. After all, I'm on a journey to a new world, not just to the neighbor's house, so I have to expect it to take a while and be and adventure with a few setbacks. Definitely not just a walk in the park.

HI everyone. I keep just updating my post down the list because it's so long, I have all my weights on for the whole time, so I don't want to keep adding it to the top, it'll take up too much room. Anyway, I'm still alive and kicking. I'm so glad for this challenge. It's really what got me going again. I thought, wow--can I do 20 lbs in 10 weeks? Maybe, maybe not, but let's just find out......so even if I don't make the 20 lbs, at least it will be something. And then I thought. 10 weeks is a long time, but the 10 weeks is going to happen whether I lose any weight or not, so I might as well try.......

Anyway, it got me going again after a loooooooonnnnnnnggg time of just not being motivated and seeing that durn scale just creep up higher and higher. I just like seeing those numbers creep DOWN over the weeks instead of up.

Good job! It's sad you don't feel good, but I guess losing weight is the one benefit of being sick. So not worth it though. I hope you feel 100 percent soon.

Well I haven't been able to exercise because of the stomach flu, but I can honestly say:

the only good thing to come out of this sickening feeling that just wont go away....is that I have lost another 2 pounds. Which makes it 3 pounds in total for this week and we are only Tuesday.

I know that its not the most reputable way to lose weight, but hey I'll take what ever I can...loll I'm looking at it this way, so that I don't feel to bad about not exercising since the weekend.

I go to the heart doc this week to see if I can get rid of the meds that cause my metabolism to slow down. I hate that stuff!! Makes it harder to lose weight. I would rather my heart beat off sync than be overweight ....lol

I am having fun jogging again. I am sore because I have not done it in a while. I was doing Elliptical and my bike because they burn more calories. However I like to jog!

My ankle feels a little better today. I was able to ride my bike last night too.Just a little sore. I am starting a 10 training plan so I hope it heals quick. I plan to use the 10k as something other than a scale to focus on!

I am on day 3 no scale!

I twisted my ankle jogging yesterday. I am frustrated hobbling around. I was beginning a 10k training plan. I liked it before when I was training for a 5k. It gives me something other than the scale to focus on! I will do cardio with my upper body only today. The bike does not hurt much but I might skip it today also.

I adjusted my calories for the drop in activity.

Vicky I have gained weight the last 2 weeks. I understand how frustrated you may feel. We can do this!!!

Raevyn Keep trying!! We are her for you so you don't lose motivation. I know you can do it.


I may put away my scale for a few weeks. I am a scale addict and it will be hard. I might just have hubby or the kids hide it somewhere. Or maybe put in the basement. I am changing things up and I need to ignore the scale and give it a chance to work.

I will instead focus on burning my calorie goal for the day and post that instead. I have burned more than enough calories the last week.

Today is suposed to be a reast day. I might take an easy walk just to move a little.

Since 8/23 (2 weeks and 3 days) emoticon 5.7 pounds

That is a little more than 2 pounds per week, but I always lose pretty fast at the beginning and then slow down to almost nothing which is when my motivation dies. I am hoping that since I am becoming more involved with SP and really trying to track that I can keep the weight loss and motivation up.

Thanks! I sometimes burn 1000 calories. However not every day. So days I burn 1000 I will eat a little more. (gosh that seems strange....eat more to lose weight?)

Karen, I'm glad that you increased your calorie intake. you said your cal intake per day was 2000. and that you burn 1000 calories a day??? then your cal intake should be closer to 2300 a day. Just be careful of not falling into starvation mode.

Julianne thank you!! I did go up to 2000 calories my BMR is 1700 if I sit around all day. It was well into the 2000 range for being active. So I am aiming for 2000 (seems so high) on active days and 1400-1500 on rest days.

Karen, that is a LOT of calories to burn. I'm thinking you really should increase your calories by quite a bit if you're burning that many calories. I know you said you were going to do that. But--for example, I put on the calorie goal thing that I would burn about 1800 calories a week and it increased my recommended calories by over 150 a day. So if you go into fitness goals, there's a place there where you can say about how many calories per week you will be burning and I think that's how it gives you the new recommendation for how many calories to consume.

I'm still a little dubious about that, but what I'm going to do, is on the days I burn a lot of calories I'm going to go by the higher number and on days I don't burn that many, I'm going to go by my old lower number.

Anyway, my scale finally moved a bit today so I'm glad, now I just want to keep it going in the right direction, it's very motivating to see progress, isn't it. Even if it's a just a little, as long as it's going the right way.

But--you WILL see one-derland eventually, I just know it. One of these days you'll figure out just what your body needs from you and it will kick in. emoticon emoticon

5 days of tracking. I updated how many calories I was burning per week and it added more calories to my food tracker so my deficit isn't too much. But still i was at the lower end of it. I don't get why I'm up 1 but hopefully it's just sodium or something. I'll just keep plugging along and see what happens.

The scale is low today. Not where I want it but closer. I added more food yesterday. I think my exercise is pushing me into to big of a calorie deficit. I am trying a little higher at a time and will see what happens. Maybe I gained due to raising it to fast.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!! I am a substitute today again. I was in 3rd grade yesterday and hope to be there again today. Tomorrow 7th grade at my son's school.

sorry i've been mia but have been dealing with some family issues that knocked me for a loop. and is slowly turning around, and one that i am having a real hard time dealing with. but on the good side, last week, my great grandson, xaviar micheal was born, he is so adorable.
