Wanted to share my quiet time from yesterday...a little long:

Quiet Time Nugget from Colossians 2:8
The Message: "Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings."

It is always amazing to me that the more we possess, the more w
e crave. If we have a nice house; we want a nice house. If we have a great marriage; we look at other's marriages and find ours lacking. If we have a great job; we are continual looking for another job with a higher salary to fulfill us. If we have dreams; we are constantly looking to God to make them all come true.

None of these things in and of themselves are bad, but when do we just become content? When do we look at our life and say, "God there is nothing else I could want for...Thank you?" I have been trapped in that thought pattern way too often and I know it is because I am taking my focus off of God.

Jesus was the ultimate gift to me and when I forget all that He has done for me, then I desire more and more. The truth is that no one or no nothing can ever bring me the joy that following God wholeheartedly could ever bring.

I am so grateful for God's providence in and over my life. He has greatly provided for my emotional, spiritual, physical, and financial needs. I am overwhelmed with the way He loves me.

Today I feel so grateful to God for helping me take one day at a time to get back to building a healthy temple. It is when I let crazy thoughts (satan) and other people's expectations get in the way that I go awry.

Lord, help me to look at myself the way you see me. Help me to know that I am wonderfully made. That you knit me in my mother's womb. You decided my hair color, my nose, my eyes, the parents I would belong to, everything about me comes from you. Please remind me daily that I am building up a legacy of health for my children and my family.

In your precious son, Jesus, I pray.....AMEN

The only thing that has kept me sane on this journey of ups and downs is knowing that God loves me the way I am. I don't have to look like the media tells us we should look. I am God's daughter and he created me. The scripture that keeps me going is "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full (Psalm 139:14)."

And the church said.......AMEN!

I envision a temple that is immaculate, yet warm & inviting, on the inside... filled with brilliant beams of light being filtered through picturesque stained glass windows. The stains of life color our perspective and add depth/dimension to the fabric of our lives...

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? … The temple of God is holy, which temple ye are” (1 Corinthians 3:16–17).

When I envision a temple, I see a visually breathtaking, yet incredibly modest, structure made of the finest materials (inside and out). Having said that, running is one aspect of my plan to reveal the breathtaking structure that God as created me to be.
