I know this is a late post, but I have a savings account with Ally Bank. I still have a brick-and-mortar bank for my checking account, but I live in a really small community (less than 800 people), so I had some privacy concerns when it came to savings. So far I've found Ally to be really easy to use, and I have no problem transferring funds between my accounts. I've started using my Ally savings account to pay other bills that I can pay strictly online too. The interest rate isn't that high, but if I can earn something on my money for a few days, I figure I might as well.
It's been so long since I went inside a bank for anything. The bank I use now has brick and mortar locations, but I used an internet bank for several years and the issues I had with them were not related to them being online only.
I use online banking also. Works great. No postage stamps, don't have to worry about your check getting lost in the mail, and you have proof of payment. Also helps me budget,as I schedule my bill payment date as soon as I get the bill.
